Global Top 100 Internet Healthcare Financing Deals 2014–2015: Insights and Company Profiles

2015 was a standout year for internet healthcare, both in China and globally, with total investment and financing transactions exceeding $6 billion.

VCBeat Research Institute conducted a statistical analysis of the top 100 global investment and financing transactions, revealing a total transaction value exceeding RMB 32.2 billion, which accounted for approximately 82% of the global total in 2015. These transactions were distributed across 10 countries, with the United States leading by accounting for half of the volume, while China ranked second with 42 deals. In terms of specific sectors, capital in 2015 showed greater interest in specialized vertical fields, with many projects focusing on niche areas; among these, genetic testing took the lead. Furthermore, Series A rounds dominated the transactions with 31 deals, followed by Series B and Series C rounds in second and third place, respectively. Globally, late-stage transactions remained relatively scarce, indicating that the internet healthcare market is still in its innovation-driven growth phase, with limited consolidation activity.
