Investment in the On-Demand Health Service sector has surged in recent years, giving rise to a plethora of new business models. While some standout companies have begun to emerge, most have encountered a variety of challenges.
This article attempts to describe and analyze some of the interesting trends and issues. The article is divided into four parts.
Part I provides a brief overview of the rapid development of on-demand healthcare services in the United States and China, categorizing them into three types.. The first category involves directly issuing requests via mobile applications or online platforms, with services completed entirely online; the second category involves issuing requests online, but the services cannot be completed online; the third category is more complex, requiring offline services to be coordinated across multiple physical locations.
Part II: How On-Demand Healthcare Services Actually Work, for example, what are the current service providers and service categories? What about in the future? What are the service types, service interface points, and service delivery models? What components might be involved in complex online-offline integrated models, etc.?
Part III will categorize Chinese users’ demand for and acceptance of major categories of on-demand healthcare services available in the market, as well as assess their alignment with Chinese consumers’ spending habits.. Furthermore, the text will also highlight the challenges facing mainstream on-demand healthcare services and the potential for addressing these issues.
Finally, this paper will explore new trends in on-demand healthcare services from the perspectives of business models and technology.
