On March 19, the “Healthcare Partner” Innovation Collaboration Competition, co-hosted by Pfizer, Ping An, Tencent, and Legend Capital, was held in Beijing. Mami Zhidao, a leading domestic online maternal and infant consultation platform, stood out from more than 400 projects to advance to the final round of the top twelve.
At the competition roadshow, Liang Liang, Founder and CEO of Mommy Knows, revealed that Mommy Knows has completed a RMB 100 million Series B financing round. The round was led by Fosun RZ Capital, with participation from existing investors SoftBank China, Morningside Venture Capital, and emerging fund Hawthorn Capital.
It is reported that “Mommy Knows,” launched by Yixin Technology in early 2015, has accumulated a total of 3.6 million users to date. The platform has exclusively contracted with 1,000 physicians from Grade A tertiary hospitals to provide services, handling over 10,000 online consultations per day on average.
In 2016, one year after the platform went online and began operations, Mami Zhidao started to explore commercialization. Previously, in a VCBeat article titled “Maternal and Infant Entrepreneurship: Can Six Key Entry Points Successfully Navigate Three Profit Models?》also mentioned that during its initial commercialization trials, Mami Zhidao would launch value-added services including a 1-minute response online emergency consultation, “Mami Bao,” and offline clinics.
Due to the severe shortage of pediatricians, hospitals across various regions have been closing their pediatric emergency departments. As soon as Mammy Knows launched its emergency consultation feature, it was enthusiastically embraced by mothers, achieving a user satisfaction rate as high as 96%.
In early March, Mommy Knows partnered with commercial insurance providers to launch “Mommy Bao,” the platform’s first internet-based medical insurance product. Additionally, Mommy Knows’ offline pediatric outpatient clinics are currently under intensive preparation.
In this funding round, the lead investor in Mami Zhidao’s financing is Fosun RZ Capital, a venture capital fund under Fosun Group that focuses on early-stage investments in healthcare, internet finance, and SaaS for enterprise services. Liang Liang stated that Mami Zhidao chose Fosun RZ Capital due to its extensive industry experience in the broader health sector, particularly in digital health, as well as Fosun Group’s strong industrial background in healthcare and insurance. Following the completion of this financing round, Mami Zhidao will further expand its innovative “online + offline” medical services.
