Commentary: Internet Healthcare Needs “Partnerships”
Li Tiantian, founder and CEO of DXY, remarked during his project review, “The healthcare industry holds great promise, but it will not produce giants akin to BAT.” This is because the industry’s supply chain is excessively complex, making it difficult for any single company or service provider to cover the entire process and full value chain. “However, we can leverage partnerships to complement each other’s strengths, exploring commercial models and service innovations.”
At the final pitch session of the Medical Partner Competition, two oncology-related projects left a deep impression on Li Tiantian. “These two oncology projects are data-driven, enabling enhanced service integration and future scalability.” In addition, the handheld glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) tester also made a significant impact on him. “The concept behind the HbA1c device is excellent, targeting a vast market. From a technical perspective, HbA1c is indeed a critical biomarker that plays a pivotal role in clinical decision-making.”
Li Tiantian believes that a viable business model is crucial for internet healthcare. Only through connections based on viable business models can the interests and needs of investment partners be satisfied. Whether it concerns oncology or glycated hemoglobin, true openness must be achieved by integrating processes across the upstream and downstream sectors.
Seizing the opportunity to provide commentary, Li Tiantian also expressed his expectations for the Healthcare Partner Competition. “When the next and subsequent editions of the Healthcare Partner Competition are launched, I hope we can engage in in-depth discussions on business models, such as how to better collaborate with other commercial partners.”
Li Tiantian stated, “The road ahead is long and will inevitably be fraught with challenges and obstacles, but we will join hands with our ‘partners’ to forge ahead toward a future that is more distant and full of hope.”
