Jointown Online Hospital Strategy

In 2015, Jointown Pharmaceutical Group began to strategically focus on online hospitals. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Haoyaoshi, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Zhonghuan Anorectal Hospital, aiming to break the monopoly on hospital prescriptions and address the source of prescriptions following the deregulation of online prescription drug sales, thereby paving the way for Haoyaoshi’s online sale of prescription drugs.

Early this year, Haoyaoshi Pharmacy obtained approval from the Hubei Provincial Medical Products Administration to pilot the remote sale and delivery of selected medications from the outpatient pharmacy of Wuhan Central Hospital, and was authorized to settle related fees online. Meanwhile, Alibaba Health partnered with Wuhan Central Hospital to jointly establish an internet hospital.

Subsequently, Jointown Pharmaceutical Group partnered with AliHealth to streamline the online sales of prescription drugs, enabling online consultations and offline delivery of prescribed medications. Through this collaboration, Jointown provides AliHealth with efficient delivery logistics, while AliHealth supplies Jointown with electronic prescriptions.

Users can register for appointments and consult doctors through the online hospital portal of Tmall Pharmacy. After the consultation, patients receive electronic prescriptions. Upon patient consent, these e-prescriptions are transmitted exclusively to the Haoyaoshi Pharmacy store on Tmall Pharmacy. Orders are then sorted and consolidated at Jointown Pharmaceutical Group’s warehouse in Wuhan, delivered to the county level, and finally distributed to the village level by Cainiao Network’s Alibaba Rural Taobao logistics service.
