On-Site of the Renowned Physicians’ Pro Bono Surgical Donation and Public Welfare Declaration Launch Event
The Renowned Physicians Public Welfare Alliance project was jointly launched by Mingyi Zhudao, well-known Chinese charitable organizations, medical experts, and healthcare institutions. The initiative aims to provide impoverished patients with assistance from charitable organizations and access to free surgeries performed by renowned physicians. For patients in need, charitable organizations such as the Fosun Foundation donate surgical fees, Mingyi Zhudao coordinates with high-quality physicians, and hospitals such as United Family Healthcare carry out the surgical procedures.
In addition to donating charitable surgeries, Mingyi Zhudao collaborates with public welfare organizations and social forces to jointly conduct health volunteer services. These initiatives encompass compassionate surgeries, medical training, health lectures, pharmaceutical donations, and disease relief efforts. This will significantly promote the improvement of medical standards in small and medium-sized cities, underdeveloped western regions, and rural areas, by providing free, high-end expert medical and health volunteer services to underserved populations who struggle to afford care, thereby helping less developed regions enhance their overall medical service levels and quality. The activities will further facilitate cooperation between premium hospitals in major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai and local medical institutions, as well as alignment between provincial-level medical institutions and those at the prefectural, city, and county levels. This promotes the downward flow of high-quality medical resources, supports the healthy development of China’s healthcare sector, and drives the comprehensive implementation of tiered diagnosis and treatment systems and policies allowing physicians to practice at multiple locations.
Su Shu stated, “The ‘Public Welfare Initiative with Renowned Physicians’ model is dedicated to addressing the uneven distribution of medical resources in China and the challenges of difficult and costly access to healthcare. The crux of this issue lies in its nature as a systemic project that requires participation from all sectors of society to achieve co-construction and shared benefits. Mingyi Zhudao should leverage the advantages of internet enterprises—namely sharing, openness, and connectivity—to join forces with public welfare organizations, medical experts, healthcare institutions, and other social stakeholders to collaboratively advance this initiative.”

Huang Zhengming, President of the Chinese Medical Education Association, stated that the Famous Doctors Public Welfare Alliance was jointly initiated by Mingyi Zhudao, multiple charitable organizations, hundreds of top medical experts, and dozens of hospitals. The initiative aims to provide patients in medically underserved regions and those living in poverty with access to aid from charitable organizations and free surgeries performed by renowned specialists. This represents a more diverse and pragmatic effort to advance healthcare and philanthropy through mobile internet technology. By scientifically leveraging the advantages of the internet, the Famous Doctors Public Welfare Alliance has attracted a large number of high-level medical professionals as volunteers, thereby enhancing the professionalism and accessibility of current medical charitable activities. Aligned with the democratic and sharing values of the internet, this model offers a viable approach and solution to gradually address issues such as the uneven distribution of medical resources and difficulties in accessing medical care in China.
Chen Qiyu, Director of Fosun Group and Chairman of Fosun Pharma, stated that a company’s role extends beyond profit-making; more importantly, it must uphold its social responsibilities and mission. The establishment of the Renowned Physicians Public Welfare Alliance precisely exemplifies the corporate social responsibility embraced by participating enterprises.
