Recently, He Lun, founder and CEO of Beijing Xinyi Changxiang Technology Co., Ltd., revealed that the company had secured RMB 5 million in angel-round strategic investment from Dahe Venture Capital and Inno Angel Fund at the end of 2015.
Houzhentong, a product under the company’s portfolio, is a chronic disease screening and assessment platform tailored for middle-aged and elderly individuals. Leveraging floor-standing all-in-one kiosks deployed across various hospitals, the system provides patient education on chronic diseases in waiting areas and conducts screening and assessments for high-incidence conditions. All data are synchronized to the cloud, enabling patients to conveniently present printed reports during medical consultations. Physicians can access and review patient information via a dedicated clinician client, allowing them to provide long-term follow-up on treatment and rehabilitation outcomes to ensure therapeutic efficacy.
Over the next three years, Xinyi Technology aims to establish an H2H (Hospital-to-Home) comprehensive medical service channel by building a mobile platform that enables continuous case tracking and management from chronic disease screening onward. This initiative seeks to achieve precision medicine and enhance patients’ healthcare experiences, facilitating remote consultations, basic testing, on-site medication purchases, and reduced time spent seeking medical care.
Helen, CEO of Xinyi Technology, told VCBeat that the company plans to establish a complete H2H healthcare chain within three years, aiming to have 300,000 contracted physicians serving at least 9 to 10 million patients.
Heron introduced that Xinyi Technology has established collaborations with renowned experts in the field of chronic diseases, setting up screening and assessment platforms for outpatients with chronic conditions in over 500 tertiary hospitals. The number of screened patients is increasing by millions. Meanwhile, personalized disease intervention plans are developed based on assessment data to achieve “early detection, early prevention, and early treatment.”
This year, Xinyi Technology will expand its coverage to nearly 1,000 hospitals, 80% of which are Grade A tertiary hospitals. The company will upgrade its existing platform into a comprehensive management system for screening, assessment, and health education. By integrating out-of-hospital follow-up tools, it will establish chronic disease patient management centers and create an intelligent Hospital-to-Home (H2H) management model, ultimately serving over ten million patients with chronic diseases.
H2HIt is a trend in chronic disease management.
“Community hospitals serve as a key entry point for B2C chronic disease management programs,” said Heron. Most patients with chronic conditions are middle-aged or elderly. Although they have the time to queue up for consultations at tertiary hospitals, such experiences are far from satisfactory. There is a significant unmet need to reduce the time these patients spend in hospitals—typically one full day per month.
Xinyi Technology CEO Helen
The reason why patients bypass conveniently located community hospitals and instead visit tertiary Grade A hospitals for medication and consultations is actually due to a lack of trust in the medical capabilities of community hospitals. “If patients can connect with trusted doctors via internet platforms, they would not need to waste an entire day at ‘large hospitals’ merely for ‘regular prescription refills’ or to consult on simple issues. We should fully leverage the convenience of community hospitals and offline prescriptions to serve chronic disease patients with various needs.” In Heron’s view, community hospitals can also provide home-based physical examinations and other services for middle-aged and elderly patients with chronic conditions.
Establish partnerships with industry associations and Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies
A major advantage of the Houshentong product is its ability to directly collect physiological data from patients with chronic diseases, which also serves as a key prerequisite for its collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and research projects.
It is understood that Xinyi Company is the exclusive software and hardware technology service provider for chronic disease management projects in partnership with the Chronic Disease Management Center of the National Health and Family Planning Commission. Xinyi Technology has initiated separate projects across various chronic disease domains, including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, osteoporosis and fracture-related systemic disorders, urinary system diseases, and arthritis and pain conditions, providing data collection and analysis services to support project research. As of the end of 2015, Houzhentong kiosks had been deployed in 416 Grade A tertiary hospitals nationwide.
Beijing Xinyi Changxiang Technology Co., Ltd. began venturing into digital marketing services for pharmaceutical companies in 2008, focusing on supporting Fortune 500 pharmaceutical firms in expanding their presence in the Greater China market. This strategic focus enabled the company to establish collaborative channels with several Fortune 500 pharmaceutical corporations, including Bayer, Pfizer, Novartis, and Astellas. Meanwhile, Xinyi Changxiang has also forged partnerships with numerous medical industry associations. In early 2016, it became the exclusive council member of the Chinese Health Promotion Association responsible for medical big data screening.
The Belief of Xinyi Changxiang
According to Heron, in 2015, the Xinyi Changxiang team had fewer than 13 members, and the company achieved an annual output value of over RMB 10 million. In the first quarter of 2016, Xinyi Changxiang’s sales exceeded RMB 10 million.,The company's 2016 target was to deploy its integrated diagnostic and treatment units in at least 1,000 hospitals, with a minimum of 1,000 units installed.
Herron stated that Xinyi Company has achieved rapid growth from “0 to 1” over the past two years, with significant progress in its market layout. Moving forward, the company is even willing to sacrifice some profits to pursue more “in-depth” initiatives in the field of chronic diseases. The system platform envisioned by Xinyi prioritizes the medical experience and continuous health management of patients with chronic conditions. This enables patients to engage in online consultations with trusted specialists from major hospitals after discharge, conveniently collect medications at community pharmacies, undergo chronic disease-related physical assessments, and potentially even receive home-based medical services.
