In his speech at the Second World Internet Conference, President Xi Jinping stated, “Information technology, represented by the internet, is advancing at a breathtaking pace. It has spearheaded new transformations in social production, created new spaces for human life, expanded new frontiers in national governance, and significantly enhanced humanity’s capacity to understand and transform the world.” With internet technology evolving rapidly, mobile healthcare has emerged as the most prominent sector, effectively serving as a testing ground for “Internet Plus” initiatives.

Due to the unique nature of the healthcare sector and the complexity of its industrial structure, the internetization of healthcare remains in a relatively nascent stage compared with other industries. In fact, internet-based healthcare has already established a foundation for development in terms of policy, social, and technological environments. With the successive introduction of top-level strategies such as “Internet Plus” and “Healthy China,” the deepening of medical reforms, the increasingly prominent societal demand for healthcare services, and the continuous improvement of the online environment and technology, the industry has entered a period of rapid growth since 2014.

At this juncture, on the healthcare stage in Henan Province, Yixuntong, as the sole doctor-patient communication center initiated by the Henan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission (formerly the Henan Provincial Department of Health), has completed a comprehensive platform upgrade following seven years of strategic layout from 2009 to the present.Leveraging the WeClinic platform, physicians and physician groups provide patients with convenient online medical information services.Healthcare entities such as the Health Commission, medical insurance systems, and pharmacies have embraced the tiered diagnosis and treatment policy under the new healthcare reform. By achieving bidirectional, real-time information exchange, they have established a more authoritative and professional service platform for patients, created a unified mobile internet gateway for healthcare institutions, and accelerated their integration into the new internet ecosystem while facilitating the transformation of their internet-based service models.

Among them, Yixuntong’s “Micro Clinic” serves as the “heart,” hosting its two core product series: “Yixuntong Online” and “Yixuntong Services.”“Yixuntong Service” is a mobile internet-based healthcare product that provides patients with one-stop, end-to-end medical services, including online consultations, appointment scheduling, examinations, online access to test results, referrals, home medication delivery, health management, and personal physician services. “Yixuntong Online” centers on physician users, enabling doctors to perform workflow operations for electronic medical records, electronic lab/test orders, patient management, academic support, and referral/consultation anytime and anywhere, while also facilitating inter-institutional business collaboration and information sharing among healthcare organizations.

Supported by the “Yi Xun Tong” platform, the application layer can also be opened to third-party service providers, enabling interoperability between platform application services and insurance institutions, pharmaceutical e-commerce platforms, wearable device manufacturers, upstream and downstream suppliers, and third-party apps. By integrating with this platform, pharmaceutical e-commerce companies can facilitate home delivery of medications for patients, while commercial insurers can enable online claims processing for patients.

Mr. Cai Junfang, founder of the Yixuntong project, explicitly stated, “Yixuntong is dedicated to serving local hospitals in Henan Province. As an open platform, Yixuntong serves as a vital channel for the seamless integration of third-party services into medical institutions, helping them significantly reduce the costs of providing internet-based healthcare services to healthcare organizations and patients, thereby achieving the digital transformation of their business models.”The launch of Yixuntong will help build an open internet healthcare ecosystem in the Central Plains, facilitating the integration of the entire medical service chain and ultimately establishing a new industrial chain centered on hospitals, physicians, patients, and third-party entities.
