Four Key Challenges to Address Before Entering the Precision Medicine Market

May 19, 2016 16:31 CST Updated 16:31

On January 20, 2015, U.S. President Barack Obama proposed the “Precision Medicine Initiative” in his State of the Union Address, with the hope that precision medicine would usher in a new era in medicine.

On May 13, 2016, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, together with federal agencies and private funding organizations, announced the launch of the new National Microbiome Initiative to promote research on microbes from diverse environments.

Two plans, one keyword: precision medicine!

The concept of “precision” is gaining significant momentum, as seen in initiatives such as targeted poverty alleviation, precision marketing, and precision medicine. Recent key opinions and guidance documents issued by the government clearly indicate that precision medicine has become a strategic priority at the national level.

Policy Focus Is Here; How Could the Windfall Not Arrive?
