Xianpu Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. was established in June 2014 and specializes in the research, development, and production of wearable smart ECG monitoring garments. Its products leverage smart hardware and internet connectivity to enable the prevention and monitoring of myocardial infarction. Xianpu Intelligent Technology aims to ensure timely treatment for patients with cardiovascular diseases and improve their quality of life.

Cardiovascular Diseases Remain the Leading Cause of Death, with Diagnosis and Treatment Costs Rising Year by Year

In China, cardiovascular disease has long been a dark cloud hanging over many households. On one hand, it has a high incidence rate and affects a large patient population; on the other, its diagnosis and treatment costs are relatively high.

Data show that in 2015, approximately 540,000 people in China died from heart disease, with around 1,500 daily deaths attributed to sudden cardiac death. Cardiovascular diseases accounted for over 40% of all cause-specific mortality among residents, with rates of 44.8% in rural areas and 41.9% in urban areas, making cardiovascular diseases the leading cause of death.

It is estimated that there are approximately 290 million people with cardiovascular disease in China,Among them, there are approximately 270 million patients with hypertension, 7 million with stroke, 2.5 million with myocardial infarction, 4.5 million with heart failure, 5 million with cor pulmonale, 2.5 million with rheumatic heart disease, and 2 million with congenital heart disease. One in five adults suffers from cardiovascular disease.

Cardiovascular diseases not only pose a significant threat to patients’ physical health but also incur high diagnosis and treatment costs. In 2014, the total hospitalization expenditure for acute myocardial infarction amounted to RMB 13.375 billion, for intracranial hemorrhage RMB 20.707 billion, and for cerebral infarction RMB 47.035 billion, with costs showing a year-on-year upward trend compared to previous years. Furthermore, patients need to regularly visit hospitals for registration and consultations to monitor their cardiac health. However, due to the large number of cardiovascular disease patients and the mismatch between medical supply and demand, the communication time between patients and physicians may not exceed half an hour. Without timely diagnosis and treatment services, patients are at risk of missing the optimal window for intervention.

The HeartGuard Armor can provide early warnings for cardiovascular diseases; the product was launched last week.

“The onset of cardiovascular diseases is predictable. By utilizing continuous electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring combined with intelligent signal recognition and early warning technology, ECG variation signals can be detected 2–5 days prior to onset, enabling advance alerts. Timely intervention by patients can prevent disease episodes.” StringFounder of Pu Intelligent Technology、CEOYan GangTell VCBeat, itsProduct: Heart ProtectionProduct A is a series of ECG monitoring products, comprising a wearable multi-lead ECG monitoring garment and a companion mobile app. The monitoring garment enables multi-lead ECG monitoring for patients and uploads cardiac health data to the app in real time.

In the productofOn the app, professional medical staff are available online to address patients’ complex queries and provide health guidance. With a ratio of one nurse managing ten patients, the need for hospital visits—such as queuing and registration—during cardiovascular disease management is eliminated. Meanwhile, when the monitoring garment detects potential cardiac abnormalities, the app automatically triggers an alert after analyzing the data and notifies the designated emergency contacts.

It is understood thatThe HeartGuard vest was crowdfunded on JD.com in April 2016.PlatformIt was launched and officially went live on the official website on May 27, 2016.

Huxinjia Smart ECG Monitoring Vest

Cardiac Armor enables multi-lead monitoring, aiming to reduce sudden cardiac death and improve patients' quality of life.

Currently, there are similar products available both domestically and internationally, such as patch-type monitors. Yan Gang stated that compared with patch-type monitors, the Heart Guardian vest offers the advantage of multi-lead monitoring. Its ergonomic design ensures greater comfort, avoiding allergies and pain associated with adhesive patches. The sensors are embedded in a T-shirt, which is washable. In the field of wearable smart ECG monitoring devices, the Heart GuardianAIt is the first product of its kind in China.

When discussing his original motivation for starting the business, Yan Gang stated that his relatives were patients with cardiovascular diseases, which gave him a profound understanding of the importance of real-time monitoring and early prevention for such patients.

The target population for the HeartGuard product includes patients who are in the recovery phase after surviving a single myocardial infarction, as well as those undergoing rehabilitation following minor cardiovascular surgery.StringPu Intelligent Technology hopes that its HeartGuard product can reduce sudden cardiac death, lower the incidence of both first-time and recurrent myocardial infarctions, save patients on medical costs, and improve their quality of life.
