Following the completion of its $500 million Series A financing round, Ping An Good Doctor has taken another significant step to reshape the health ecosystem in the Internet Healthcare 2.0 era. On June 23, Ping An Good Doctor announced the joint establishment of the “Ping An Good Doctor Anti-Cancer Alliance” with medical experts in oncology prevention and treatment, genetic testing institutions, physician groups, and other organizations. Ping An Good Doctor will invest RMB 100 million in this alliance.

At the ceremony, Wu Zongxun, Chief Product Officer of Ping An Good Doctor, revealed that the company would sign contracts with nearly 100 chief-level breast cancer specialists from Grade A tertiary hospitals across China. These experts will jointly establish specialist studios on the mobile platform, enabling breast cancer patients nationwide to engage in one-on-one interactions with specialists anytime and anywhere. Over the next six months, Ping An Good Doctor will collaborate with renowned oncology experts from various subspecialties to launch multiple online free consultation sessions, directly connecting patients with China’s top-tier oncology resources. Additionally, Ping An Good Doctor will work with these experts to carry out online patient education initiatives, including “Renowned Physicians’ Lecture Halls” and patient interaction communities.
Regarding this collaboration, Professor Liu Yingbin, Vice President of Xinhua Hospital, stated, “We greatly look forward to leveraging this partnership to enable the alliance to fully utilize the specialized resource advantages accumulated by all parties in the fields of oncology treatment and rehabilitation, improve patient adherence, assist physicians in managing patients more effectively, and meet the needs of both physicians and patients for whole-course management of cancer rehabilitation.”
According to statistical data from the National Cancer Center, there were approximately 4.2916 million new cancer cases in China in 2015, with an additional 2.8142 million deaths attributed to cancer. The Ping An Good Doctor Anti-Cancer Alliance initially focuses on the field of breast cancer. Early-stage breast cancer often presents no obvious symptoms; however, if detected and treated at an early stage, the clinical cure rate can reach 90%–95%. Users of Ping An Good Doctor can engage in regular preventive screening through the platform’s partner physical examination and genetic testing institutions. The alliance integrates healthcare providers, patients, payment coverage, and platform services to establish a “patient-centered” oncology disease management model, creating a closed loop that spans tumor prevention, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and payment.
Ping An Good Doctor previously announced that it is actively preparing an ecosystem incubation fund, through which it will make strategic investments in upstream and downstream resources. The establishment of the Anti-Cancer Alliance also represents Ping An Good Doctor’s attempt to vertically segment its vision of building a next-generation health ecosystem. It is reported that, as of now, Ping An Good Doctor has reached 77 million registered users, with daily information queries peaking at nearly 250,000, making it the mobile healthcare application with the highest coverage in China.
