Progress at Jianke.com, a pharmaceutical e-commerce platform, has drawn significant attention since it completed its Series A financing round earlier this year. VCBeat recently learned that Zhou Feng, former CEO of Lashou.com, has officially joined Jianke.com as Executive Director, Chief Strategy Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. Xie Fangmin, CEO of Jianke.com, expressed strong expectations that Zhou Feng’s arrival will enhance the company’s capital operational efficiency and support its diversified strategic layout. Industry analysts believe that Zhou Feng, with his extensive management experience in internet operations, finance, and capital markets, will serve as a core driving force for Jianke.com and the broader pharmaceutical e-commerce sector, further bolstering confidence in the company’s future growth.

Jianke.com, founded in 2006, is a leading player in China’s pharmaceutical e-commerce sector and one of the largest online pharmacies in the country. In 2009, it obtained the “Internet Drug Transaction Service Qualification Certificate” issued by the State Food and Drug Administration, becoming the first legally authorized B2C internet drug retailer in Guangdong Province. In early 2016, the company secured USD 100 million in Series A financing and was ranked by iResearch as the most highly valued unicorn enterprise in China’s pharmaceutical e-commerce industry.

Zhou Feng graduated from Tsinghua University with a major in Electronic Engineering and earned an MBA from Yale University. He previously worked at Dell and Baidu. In 2012, Zhou joined Lashou.com, China’s largest group-buying website, serving as Director and Chief Executive Officer, where he was fully responsible for the company’s strategic planning and operations. With twenty years of industry experience, Zhou has profound insights into internet entrepreneurship, operations, management, and development. He is also a thinker in internet finance, a practitioner of O2O (Online-to-Offline) models, and an explorer in the field of internet healthcare. He stated that after joining Jianke, his primary responsibility would be investment and financing. He expressed hope that Jianke would adopt a more international perspective and help the company achieve deeper and broader layouts in areas such as health management, internet hospitals, and wearable devices.

Amid the capital winter, mobile health and pharmaceutical e-commerce companies in China that are currently operating at a loss are viewed with some skepticism. In response, Zhou Feng stated, “Jianke is a pharmaceutical e-commerce and mobile health platform that does not incur losses. Our revenue and profits will be reinvested into business expansion. We do not aim to generate profits in the short term, but we will not operate at a loss either.” He revealed that Jianke will increase its investment in foundational infrastructure in the near term to support the company’s long-term development.

Xie Fangmin also expressed high expectations for Zhou Feng’s joining, stating, “I greatly look forward to Mr. Zhou enhancing Jianke’s overall capital operation efficiency and implementing a diversified strategic layout, thereby truly establishing Jianke as a trustworthy smart healthcare service platform.”
