York Dentist, established in October 2014, is a product under Beijing York MedTech Co., Ltd. The project aims to provide a professional platform for dentists, dedicated to enhancing their work efficiency and clinical expertise.
Data show that currently, European and American countries have approximately 500–1,000 dentists per million people, while Brazil has about 870 dentists per million people. In China, the number of dentists per million people is less than 100. Annual per capita spending on oral care in Nordic countries is approximately US$2,100, around US$1,200 in the United States, and less than US$10 in China.
Analysis reveals that China’s dental market currently lags behind global advanced standards, indicating substantial room for growth. In recent years, the Chinese dental market has been undergoing a phase of rapid development, particularly characterized by the swift expansion of high-end services such as dental implants. The market size is poised to converge with that of developed nations. This rapid growth is primarily driven by rising per capita disposable income, an aging population, and the increasing penetration of public education on oral health.
For dentists working within the public healthcare system, a significant pain point is the lack of a sense of belonging. It is crucial for their professional expertise to be recognized and for them to cultivate trusting relationships with patients, thereby avoiding the distress associated with doctor-patient disputes. Compared to physicians in other specialties, dentists enjoy greater autonomy and are better positioned to practice at multiple locations. Addressing this pain point and leveraging these characteristics, York Dentist facilitates the possibility of independent practice for dentists through its platform.
York Dentist’s platform features one-click transmission of medical instructions, patient appointment management, consultation schedules, real-time chat communication with patients, and refined patient management through an address book.
Currently, in addition to York Dentist, dental platforms include Hippo Dentist, Yake, Yiyibang, Haoyayi, Yiya Wang, Aiya Wang, Meimei Ya, Bailu, and others.

Introduction to Internet + Dentistry Projects
York Dentist aims to help doctors practice more freely, with three key features:
York Dentist aims to help dentists make efficient use of fragmented time.
York Dentist’s platform can integrate with mobile phone contacts, enabling dentists to conduct real-time patient follow-ups via the Internet and maintain doctor-patient relationships anytime, anywhere.
On the York Dentist platform, dentists can realize their professional value by practicing at multiple locations, thereby building their personal reputation.
As a tool for dentists, York Dentist can attract physician traffic, accumulate extensive doctor-patient data and relationships on its platform, foster dentist user stickiness, and ultimately provide value-added services to dentists.
In April 2016, the number of dentist users on the York Dentist client platform reached 20,000, and the platform announced that it would implement operational management for a subset of dentists.
Recalling memorable experiences during the startup journey, Ren Peng, founder of York Dentist, stated that in July 2016, a dentist in his early fifties proactively contacted York Dentist, expressing his desire to use its services in clinical practice. However, due to unfamiliarity with how to operate internet-based products, he sought in-person assistance. York Dentist also aims to enable every dentist to practice at multiple locations through its platform.
