United Beauty Group Launches CoolSculpting® in China, Paving the Way for Non-Invasive Fat Reduction

At the beginning of September, Beijing United Lige Medical Investment Co., Ltd. held the launch ceremony for CoolSculpting® at the “Ice Beauty” Blue Cocktail Party hosted at the Hongxiu International Financial Art Museum in Beijing. To date, CoolSculpting® has been sold in more than 72 countries, with global sales exceeding 7,500 units and the number of individuals who have undergone the treatment surpassing 3.5 million.

On August 18, 2016, CoolSculpting® (Bing Meiren) obtained the medical device registration certificate from the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA). It is currently the only non-invasive fat reduction device approved by both the U.S. FDA and the CFDA, with its indicated function explicitly defined as reduction of the adipose layer. CoolSculpting® (Bing Meiren) holds absolute advantages in terms of safety and efficacy. Utilizing patented controlled-cooling technology, it induces spontaneous apoptosis of adipocytes in the treatment area; these cells are subsequently phagocytosed by macrophages and naturally metabolized out of the body, ultimately achieving a reduction in the number of fat cells. Clinical studies have verified that it can reduce fat in the treated area by up to 24.8% in a single session.


CoolSculpting® holds 52 patents, with 19 U.S. and 80 international patent applications under its intellectual property portfolio. It has also obtained certifications in major international markets, including Canada, Europe, and other countries. More than 60 international clinical studies have been published.
