On September 17, the 2016 National Science Popularization Day was grandly held in the central area of Beijing Olympic Park, jointly hosted by eight ministries and commissions including the China Association for Science and Technology, the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

As the “fresh force” in healthcare under Ping An Group, Ping An Health Cloud was invited to participate in the event and set up an exhibit in the core Smart Health zone, showcasing its innovative applications of the Personal Medical Record App—built on cloud platforms and big data analytics—in the field of smart healthcare to industry professionals and the general public. On September 18, central leaders, including Liu Yunshan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, visited the event site for inspection and guidance, praising the achievements of internet-based healthcare in improving public health, medical service efficiency, and patient experience.

In recent years, China has continuously accelerated the development of health informatization, steadily promoting the continuous recording of electronic health records (EHRs) and electronic medical records (EMRs), as well as authorized information sharing among healthcare institutions. Furthermore, the country actively encourages regions and sectors with favorable conditions to pilot the application of big data in health and medical care.In this context, Ping An Health Cloud has continued to explore the application of cutting-edge technologies such as big data and cloud computing to mobile intelligent medical terminals, and has launched a smart healthcare product: the intelligent mobile medical terminal for electronic medical records.

According to Ni Jianwen, General Manager of Ping An Health Cloud, and Zhang Lan, Deputy General Manager, this product leverages the Ping An Group’s leading advantages in cloud platforms, big data, and information security. By collaborating with pilot cities and medical institutions, it enables users to access and effectively manage their electronic health records (EHRs) at any time. Furthermore, by integrating technologies such as the internet, financial-grade information security, big data, and cloud computing, the intelligent mobile EHR terminal will gradually achieve interoperability of electronic health records across medical institutions and specialties while ensuring user privacy. This will promote the development of clinical research, enhance clinical management and decision-making capabilities, thereby improving users’ healthcare efficiency and capacity for preventive care (“preventing disease before it occurs”), and contributing to the realization of “Health for All.”

It is reported that Ping An Health Cloud, a new force in healthcare launched by the Ping An Group, aims to leverage cutting-edge cloud technologies to promote transparency in medical information and build a fair, professional, and intelligent platform for comprehensive health services, thereby addressing gaps in service models within the new healthcare system of the “Internet Plus” era. It is understood that Ping An Health Cloud has already partnered with more than 100 hospitals and plans to integrate over 1,000 hospitals by the end of 2016, on which basis it will provide direct settlement services for commercial health insurance and medical consumer finance solutions.
