On September 23, 2016, as Ji Jiafu, President of Beijing Cancer Hospital; Wang Shan, former President of Peking University International Hospital; Qin Xinyu, Vice President of Zhongshan Hospital; Cai Sanjun, Director of the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center; and Tian Liguo, Editor-in-Chief of the Chinese Journal of Practical Surgery, illuminated the glowing sphere, the “China Gastrointestinal Tumor Surgical Alliance” was officially launched at the Hangzhou International Conference Center, the main venue that previously hosted the G20 Business Summit. The alliance initially comprised nearly 90 member institutions.
At the inaugural meeting, Dean Ji discussed how collaboration and resource sharing among the alliance and its member units, leveraging a standardized network data platform, could aggregate clinical case data across China. This approach would continuously enhance both the quality and quantity of the data, achieving mutual benefits through shared resources, thereby advancing gastrointestinal oncology research in China and strengthening its international academic standing. He subsequently presented statistical analysis results based on aggregated data from more than 70 collaborating institutions in 2015, illustrating the current status of surgical diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal tumors in China. Professor Li Ziyu and Professor Aiwen Wu from the Gastrointestinal Oncology Center of Beijing Cancer Hospital further shared detailed data analysis findings on gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, respectively.

Wang Xuexing, Founder of Xinyu Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
As the exclusive data platform developer for the alliance, New Island Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. shared the functional features of the “Keyanbao crabyter” data platform at the meeting. Leveraging six years of experience in oncology research data management, Keyanbao will support the alliance in establishing a world-class gastrointestinal tumor data management platform. Mr. Wang introduced that Keyanbao will implement the construction of the alliance’s network platform from three aspects:
First, enhance the value of data to increase the influence of the Chinese Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology Alliance;
Secondly, Keyanbao will enhance the alliance’s data management capabilities by optimizing the data collection process, assisting in the management of multi-center clinical trial systems, ensuring data quality through an intelligent and configurable verification library, enabling real-time generation of statistical summary reports, visualizing trends in phased trial data, and safeguarding data rights and security throughout the entire process.
Finally, Keyanbao will not rest on merely meeting the current research project needs of the alliance. As collaboration among alliance members deepens and research conditions mature, Keyanbao will continuously improve and refine its capabilities to ensure the evolving needs of the alliance are met, assisting in the establishment of a first-class online data management platform that is specialized, intelligent, and standardized.
This was followed by professional academic discussions and sharing of data management experiences by some member units.
