10On June 18, the eye-health-focused app “Mu Lin” was officially launched by Jishi Interconnected Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Aier Eye Hospital Group.

Aier Eye Hospital was founded by Chen Bang in Changsha on January 24, 2003. It is one of the largest ophthalmic medical care chains in China and the first medical institution to go public via an initial public offering (IPO) in the country, listing on the ChiNext board as one of the first 28 companies on October 30, 2009.

Building a Closed-Loop System for Eye Health Services

In August this year, Aier Eye Hospital announced the formulation and implementation of the “Aier Eye Hospital Mobile Healthcare Development Plan,” with the goal of building an all-encompassing “Eye Health Assurance System” that integrates online and offline services, medical treatment and prevention, and in-hospital and out-of-hospital care. At the same time, it was announced that Aier Eye Hospital would invest RMB 10 million jointly with Nanjing Aier Anxing Medical Industry Investment Center to acquire a 10% equity stake in Jishi Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd.

Jishi Hulian is committed to building a widely accessible and convenient offline eye health service network, as well as a high-quality and efficient online eye health service platform. By achieving seamless integration between offline and online services, it provides users with premium, convenient, end-to-end care, creating a closed-loop eye health service ecosystem and establishing this model as a benchmark in China’s mobile healthcare sector.

Its business is primarily divided into online and offline segments. The offline segment involves establishing community-based optometry and vision care experience stores, which mainly provide services such as family eye health record creation, professional eye disease examinations, medical optometry and glasses fitting, remote diagnosis and treatment, and expedited referrals for eye diseases. The online segment centers on the Mulian App, a cloud service platform that offers appointment scheduling, online consultations, self-assessment tools, health education, and an online store. Currently, Jishi Hulian has established multiple community optometry and vision care experience stores in cities including Changsha, Tianjin, and Chengdu.

According to VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat), the services currently offered by the Mulin App include: eye health assessments, online consultations with ophthalmologists, ophthalmic knowledge and news, appointment scheduling for Aier Eye Hospital services, and booking examinations at community optometry experience stores.

Eye health assessment involves a comprehensive evaluation of the user’s ocular health based on information such as lifestyle habits, symptom presentation, and medical history, followed by the provision of corresponding professional recommendations and product suggestions.

Online ophthalmologist resources are provided by Aier Eye Hospital. Official promotions state that there are approximately 2,000 doctors available, allowing users to add them as friends and consult with them online.

ApprovedAppUsers can also locate nearby community optometry experience stores, schedule eye examinations, and access test reports online. Additionally, users can book various services at Aier Eye Hospital online to enjoy exclusive discounts.

According to official statements, future capabilities will also include online eyewear fitting, remote image interpretation, and VR/AR experiences.

In addition, Jishi Hulian will jointly establish the Chunfeng-Aier Mobile Healthcare Special Fund with Chunyu, serving as one of the investment platforms for the company’s strategic layout in the field of ophthalmic mobile healthcare, thereby reserving more innovative ophthalmology-related projects for its future development.

As business volume and the customer base continue to grow, the project company will further introduce relevant strategic partners and resources to build an “Internet+” ecosystem for eye health.
