Dubai100: Past Team Case Studies

Vilera Kreischmann (VK) and Steffen Riedrich are the co-founders of Anvajo, a startup dedicated to enabling individuals to undergo various precise tests outside of laboratory settings. She discusses the reasons behind the company’s participation in Dubai 100 and explores the future of home-based healthcare.

Dubai's New Horizon: What Are Anvajo's Current Key Projects?

VK: Approximately one in eight couples worldwide are diagnosed with infertility, meaning they have failed to conceive after at least 12 months of trying. A primary reason for this is that the initial diagnostic procedures for assessing male fertility are often embarrassing and cumbersome, leading many men to unconsciously postpone testing. However, this should be the first consideration for couples seeking evaluation.

Dubai’s New Horizon: What Role Does Anvajo Play?

VK: The medical device developed by our company enables men to easily and conveniently conduct at-home self-testing to enhance and monitor their fertility. We plan to launch the device and test kits by the end of next year, allowing men to obtain immediate results from their samples. A companion app will also be available to help them adjust their lifestyle and improve their fertility within a few months.

Dubai’s New Horizon: Can This Test Be Extended to Other Fields?

VK: That’s correct. The best part is that our device is not limited to fertility testing; it can essentially be used for any laboratory test, including blood and urine analyses. We will soon roll out more blood and urine tests, along with other applications, striving to achieve the ultimate goal of providing market-based health services to everyone.

Dubai’s New Horizon: Why Join the Dubai 100 Project?

VK: When we joined Dubai 100, we already possessed promising technology, but we needed to develop a business model and conduct market research. Dubai 100 helped us clarify the primary focus of our project. Engaging with outstanding mentors and experienced advisors was particularly valuable, enabling us to complete extensive field research within just three months and establish strong strategic directions and objectives for our product. We launched our first clinical trial in the United Arab Emirates a few weeks ago, and we are currently raising funds and preparing for our initial patient recruitment.

Dubai New Horizons: As a mentor at the Dubai 100 Shanghai Training Camp, what support do you hope to provide to entrepreneurs?

VK: For Anvajo, the most valuable asset in its startup journey has been the support from peers and leading companies that have traversed paths we have yet to explore. Therefore, I hope to offer advice on how to pitch projects to investors and secure financing, sharing insights drawn from my own experiences.
