Yingtai Medical Imaging Shines in 'Internet + Healthcare' Innovation Landscape Amid Favorable Policies and Market Momentum

On October 28, the inaugural National “Internet + Healthcare” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition concluded in Chengdu.


The competition was jointly initiated by the Organizing Committee of the National “Internet + Healthcare” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference, the Chinese Health Information Association, the Sichuan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, Tencent’s Internet Plus Business Unit, the Chengdu Mobile Internet Association, and WORK+ Internet Healthcare Incubator. Sub-regional competitions were held in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu, and other cities. Following nearly two months of planning and screening, the top three contestants from each sub-region advanced to the national finals, with a total of 13 projects across China qualifying for the final round.


The panel of judges consisted of 14 members, including Zhiyun Yu, Investment Director at Matrix Partners China; Suchen Fei, Investment Manager at IDG Capital; Gelin Liu, General Manager at Wanfang Development; Yan Tan, Investment Manager at FreeS Fund; and Kun Zhang, Executive President of Fosun Internet Investment Group.


Participating projects will have a 5-minute pitch session, followed by a 3-minute commentary from the judges. The judges will then score each project according to the following rule: the highest and lowest scores will be discarded, and the average of the remaining scores will be calculated. The prizes are as follows: the first-prize winner (champion) will receive a cash award of RMB 40,000; the second-prize winner (runner-up) will receive a cash award of RMB 20,000; and the third-prize winner (second runner-up) will receive a cash award of RMB 10,000. All participating projects will receive recommendations from the Sichuan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission for pilot regions and hospitals, along with access to relevant medical resources. They will also have the opportunity for closed-door exchanges and cooperation negotiations with leaders from the Health and Family Planning Commission, senior executives from Tencent’s Internet Plus Division, and investors, as well as priority admission to Tencent众创空间 (Chengdu).


The shortlisted projects covered sectors such as medical hardware, health big data, medical management, and personnel training. After three hours of intense competition, the Yingtai Medical Imaging Service Project from the Chengdu division claimed the championship. The “Good Friend” ECG Machine and Comprehensive Cardiovascular Service Project from the Shenzhen division secured the runner-up position, while the “Breathing Home” Chronic Respiratory Disease Management Project took third place.


At the launch ceremony for the finals, Su Jianming, Director of the Information and Statistics Division of the Sichuan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, stated that healthcare is a fundamental aspect of public welfare concerning people’s physical health. In recent years, the emergence of smart healthcare services, driven by the development of emerging technologies such as the internet and the Internet of Things (IoT), has rapidly advanced the reform and development of the healthcare sector.


Liu Gelin, General Manager of Wanfang Development, stated that China currently offers favorable policy and market environments for innovation and entrepreneurship, with the healthcare sector representing a key area with significant investment potential. She expressed her hope that, through this Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, entrepreneurs would leverage their strategic insights in conjunction with cutting-edge technologies to effectively integrate industry and finance, thereby achieving stronger growth.


After nearly three hours of fierce competition, the medical imaging project from Yingtai Technology Co., Ltd. of the Chengdu division won the first prize. The project is positioned atMedical ImagingService providers strive to achieve uniform quality and pricing for medical imaging utilization through the Internet.


Shenzhen Zhongruiqi Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. won the second prize for its integrated ECG and cardiovascular disease service project, which leverages the internet to provide cardiac rehabilitation monitoring and home-based ECG usage, establishing itself as an expert in heart health management.


Shenzhen Kairuikang Information Technology Co., Ltd.’s “Respiratory Care” project won the third prize; the project aims to build a management platform for chronic respiratory diseases.


Shen Ji, Director of the Sichuan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission; Song Shigui, Head of the Disciplinary Inspection Team Stationed at the Health and Family Planning Commission by the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection; and Su Jianming, Director of the Information and Statistics Division of the Sichuan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, respectively presented award certificates to the teams that won the first, second, and third prizes.


Meanwhile, the champion team of this national “Internet + Healthcare” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition will receive a cash prize of RMB 40,000, the runner-up team will receive RMB 20,000, and the second runner-up team will receive RMB 10,000.


Furthermore, all participating projects in this competition will be given priority access to settle in Tencent Makerspace (Chengdu). The 13 teams shortlisted for the finals will also gain opportunities for joint project incubation, investment, and matchmaking with market resources.
