Recently, Jiangsu Yuyue Medical Equipment & Supply Co., Ltd. announced that it would acquire a 61.62% stake in Shanghai Zhongyou Pharmaceutical through an all-cash transaction, with the consideration amounting to RMB 862 million. According to Xinhua News Agency, eight provinces in China have signed a service agreement for the inter-provincial networked settlement of medical expenses under the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme (NRCMS). The agreement stipulates that insured patients from participating provinces who are referred to designated networked healthcare institutions in other participating provinces can enjoy direct settlement and reimbursement services at the hospital discharge window, making cross-regional medical reimbursement more convenient. The signatory provinces include Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Shaanxi, and Gansu.
Under the agreement, patients are required to pay only their out-of-pocket expenses upon discharge and settlement. The portion reimbursed by the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme (NRCMS) fund is settled between the medical institution and the provincial NRCMS settlement center in the place where medical services were received, with final clearing conducted among the provincial NRCMS settlement centers.
On November 21, Yin Weimin, Minister of Human Resources and Social Security, clearly stated at an event that a policy for gradually raising the retirement age would be introduced in due course. It is reported that the policy framework has already been drafted and is currently undergoing approval procedures by relevant authorities.
