WeChat, the all-in-one app, has recently added another service: home visits by nurses. By navigating to WeChat Wallet > 58 Daojia > Health, users can find the newly launched “Nurse Home Visit” service.

The "Nurse Home Visit" service covers eight items, including whitening injections, intramuscular injections, intravenous infusions, urinary catheterization, dressing changes, nasogastric feeding, venous blood sampling, and sputum suction. Taking intramuscular injections as an example, the service is offered in various packages based on the number of visits, with prices ranging from 12 yuan to 669 yuan, while whitening injection services are priced between 159 yuan and 1,849 yuan.

Data from the 58 Daojia platform shows that its at-home injection service has sold 3,971 orders to date.

It is reported that the in-home nursing services offered by 58 Daojia are provided through a mobile healthcare platform. According to official data, the platform currently has over 20,000 certified registered nurses, primarily distributed across first- and second-tier cities. Among them, Beijing has more than 6,000 certified nurses, Shanghai exceeds 2,000, and Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and other cities each have approximately 1,000. Currently, Hu Yi Dao Jia has launched its services in more than 220 cities nationwide.

While home-visit nursing services do offer considerable convenience for many elderly individuals and patients with limited mobility, this novel service model warrants careful scrutiny. Beyond verifying nurses’ qualifications, the associated issues—ranging from healthcare delivery and liability for accidents to various other minor and major concerns—are far more complex than merely seeking convenience and ease.
