China Health Information and Big Data Association's 'Internet + Healthcare' Professional Committee Files IPO Prospectus

Amid the steady advancement of healthcare reform in China, “Internet + Healthcare” has emerged as a new growth frontier. With the industry’s rapid development, establishing a lawful, compliant, and rational operational model has become a top priority. To implement national policies and promote the integration of the “Internet+” innovation concept into the healthcare sector, the Health Medical Big Data “Internet+” Healthcare Professional Committee was established under the approval and guidance of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, with research support from the Chinese Health Information Association. On January 12, 2017, the inaugural meeting of the Professional Committee was grandly held in Beijing, where Tai Congyue, CEO of Mindray International (Xinyi International), was appointed as an Executive Committee Member.

Jin Xiaotao, Deputy Director of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) and President of the Chinese Medical Information Association; Wang Caiyou, Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Medical Information Association; Li Luping, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Medical Administration and Hospital Management under the NHFPC; other leaders and distinguished guests; as well as more than 200 representatives from health and family planning commissions, hospitals, research institutions, and healthcare service providers across China attended the inaugural conference. At the event, Jin Xiaotao announced that relevant laws, regulations, and standards would be issued as soon as possible to ensure the development of internet-based healthcare and big data applications within a legal and regulatory framework.

At the conference, Academician Wang Chen from China-Japan Friendship Hospital and Academician Zeng Yixin from Beijing Hospital were elected on-site as Co-Chairmen of the Professional Committee on “Internet+” Healthcare for Health and Medical Big Data. Nine Vice-Chairmen were elected: Li Luping, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Medical Administration and Hospital Management under the National Health and Family Planning Commission; Academician Li Lanjuan from Zhejiang Shulan Hospital; Du Yuantai, Vice President of Beijing Hospital; Huang Yong, Vice President of West China Hospital, Sichuan University; Zhang Fuquan, Assistant to the President of Peking Union Medical College Hospital; Director Yin Ling from the Chinese PLA General Hospital; Ding Jinghong, Vice President of China-Japan Friendship Hospital; Wang Luhua, Vice President of the Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; and Zheng Zhe, Vice President of Beijing Fuwai Hospital. Lu Qingjun, Director of the Office of the National Health and Family Planning Commission’s Telemedicine Management and Training Center at China-Japan Friendship Hospital, was appointed as Secretary-General of the Professional Committee.


Li Ming, President of China Economic Yearbook Press; Ma Guolin, Deputy Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission; Zhao Chunming, Director of the Statistical Information Center of the Qinghai Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission; Yan Gang, Director of the Health Information Center of the Guizhou Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission; Wang Hui, Editor-in-Chief of China Economic Times; Yan Songbiao, President of Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Capital Medical University; Lei Guanghua, Vice President of Xiangya Hospital of Central South University; Tai Congyue, President of Medicool Inc.; and other 70 leading figures from various sectors across China in the “Internet+ Healthcare” field served as standing committee members.


Academician Wang Chen stated that “Internet Plus Healthcare” will generate substantial social benefits, including the formation of new medical models and business formats, the promotion of tiered diagnosis and treatment, improvements in the accessibility and quality of healthcare services, the exploration and innovation of key information and communication technologies, and the development of emerging industries related to public welfare.

Upon its establishment, the Special Committee will be dedicated to researching innovative models and management standards for “Internet + Healthcare,” promoting the integration of internet technologies with medical applications, advancing the development, utilization, integration, sharing, and growth of healthcare big data, effectively leading academic advancement, standardizing industry norms, and actively facilitating the implementation of the tiered diagnosis and treatment system.
