Recently, Dr. Hang Xingyi, Founder and CEO of Aiji TaiKang Biotechnology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., disclosed to VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) that the company has completed a new round of financing amounting to RMB 50 million, with Zhongguancun Development Group as the investor. As a leading technology-driven enterprise in the field of precision medicine genetic testing, this marks the second investment Aiji TaiKang has secured within one year.

Leveraging its independently developed target region gene capture technologies—namely, the liquid-phase chip probe hybridization-based TargetSeq and the multiplex PCR amplicon-based MultipSeq—Aiji Taikang customizes and develops genetic testing kits for enterprises, hospitals, and research institutions. The company has completed pilot-scale production of nearly 1,000 batches of these kits, achieving a first-pass yield rate of over 95%, thereby establishing an independent brand for “Made in China” gene capture solutions.

In 2016, Agitcon, a rapidly growing company, completed a Pre-A financing round worth tens of millions of yuan. Subsequently, Agitcon accelerated its development pace, accumulating massive amounts of data through large-scale stability testing to train and optimize highly accurate product design models, with technical indicators on par with leading international competitors. Meanwhile, Agitcon has persisted in innovative R&D and the construction of an industrialized production system, establishing comprehensive solution capabilities that integrate design, manufacturing, testing, and data services. Through a multi-dimensional marketing strategy combining online and offline channels, the company has provided gene capture product development and testing services to hundreds of clients.

Following this round of financing, Aiji Taikang will continue to deepen the application development of its gene capture technology, leverage AI to establish a cloud-based high-throughput gene feature sequence design engine, and expand the development of upstream and downstream technologies related to synthetic biology. Aiji Taikang will strengthen its quality management system and strive to reduce costs through lean management and industrialized production.

Dr. Hang Xingyi emphatically expressed strong confidence that next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based genetic testing will truly enter the “$10 era.” Aiji Taikang will work hand in hand with industry partners to strive for the establishment of standards in China’s NGS equipment and reagent sectors, continuing its efforts toward the goal of achieving “High-Quality, Strong Chinese Manufacturing.” A representative of the investor, Zhongguancun Development Group, stated, “Aiji Taikang is an outstanding technology-driven project that holds a strategic high ground in the precision medicine genetic testing industry value chain. Such high-tech enterprises constitute a critical component of Zhongguancun’s initiative to build a globally influential science and technology innovation hub and to incubate clusters of strategic emerging industries. The Development Group will fully coordinate resources across all fronts to provide comprehensive support for Aiji Taikang’s leapfrog development in Chinese manufacturing.”

According to VCBeat, Aiji Taikang plans to further expand its team following the financing round, aiming to recruit more talent in marketing, operations, R&D, and other areas. Interested parties may scan the QR code below for more details.
