On the afternoon of April 25, Huami Technology unveiled its first new product in Beijing—the AMAZFIT Mi Dong Health Band. This smart wristband is designed for cardiovascular health monitoring. It not only enables users to monitor their cardiovascular health status anytime and anywhere, measure HRV-based fatigue levels, and perform ECG-based identity recognition, but also allows them to keep track of the health status of family and friends. Additionally, it features 24-hour heart rate, exercise, and sleep monitoring capabilities.

Additionally, VCBeat has learned that the AMAZFIT Mi Health Band is priced at 699 yuan and will go on sale at 10:00 AM on April 26 on platforms including JD.com, the AMAZFIT flagship stores on Tmall and Suning.com, and the Huami Technology WeChat mall.
AMAZFIT Mi Band Health is the first smart wearable product in China to perform biometric identification using cardiac electrical signals. Today, biometric identification has been widely adopted across various industries, including fingerprint, iris, posture, facial, and voiceprint recognition. Since each individual’s cardiac structure is unique, the bioelectrical signals generated by the heart contain distinctive dynamic characteristics that can serve as a basis for biometric identification.

At the press conference, VCBeat learned that in China, 290 million people suffer from cardiovascular diseases, with one death occurring every 10 seconds due to these conditions. The AMAZFIT Mi Health Band incorporates an ECG chip, the same type used for hospital-based electrocardiogram measurements, to collect cardiac electrical signals and monitor users’ cardiovascular health anytime and anywhere. The device can directly measure and store electrocardiogram data offline without requiring a smartphone connection, enabling timely detection of abnormal signals and providing traceable evidence to support subsequent medical diagnosis.
HRV, or heart rate variability, reflects the autonomic nervous system’s control over the heart and is highly correlated with various cardiovascular diseases and sudden cardiac death. A higher HRV value indicates better neural regulation of the cardiovascular system and greater cardiovascular health. The Cardiovascular Health Index is calculated using the Framingham Heart Study model from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, and it can estimate a user’s 10-year risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
The AMAZFIT Mi Health Band reflects your autonomic nervous system’s control over the heart, as well as the high incidence of sudden cardiac death and various cardiovascular diseases, by presenting HRV (Heart Rate Variability) and the Cardiovascular Health Index. Additionally, by combining PPG (Photoplethysmography) optical sensors with three-axis acceleration sensors, the AMAZFIT Mi Health Band can monitor heart rate around the clock, providing insights into changes in the user’s daily activity levels.
Establishment of the Expert Advisory Committee of the Huami Technology Heart Alliance
VCBeat also learned that at this press conference, Huami Technology established the Cardiac Alliance Expert Advisory Committee, announcing its entry into the broader health sector. It appointed Professor Ma Changsheng, a renowned electrophysiologist in China, known as the leading expert on atrial fibrillation, and Director of the Department of Cardiology at Beijing Anzhen Hospital, as Honorary Chairman; Professor Yang Yanzong, leader of the cardiovascular discipline at Dalian Medical University and former President of Dalian Medical University Cardiovascular Hospital, as Chairman; and Professor Guo Weihua, Deputy Director of the Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Treatment Center at Beijing Tongren Hospital, as Vice Chairman and Secretary-General. Five other senior experts in China’s cardiovascular field, including specialists in clinical research and surgical procedures, were appointed as committee members.

Huang Wang, Founder & CEO of Huami Technology, stated, "Although our team is highly proficient in the wearable technology sector, this endeavor inherently involves cross-disciplinary challenges related to cardiology. Therefore, we aim to improve the cardiovascular health of the Chinese population through close collaboration with the medical community and the application of artificial intelligence technologies."
Building the AI Doctor, Dr. Amazfit
Only by meeting the three conditions of a large-scale user base, massive note data, and deep learning technology can an artificial intelligence product be successfully developed. Huami Technology’s AI Laboratory has established a sample set of 100,000 ECG records to train its neural network models. As the number of users and the volume of data increase, the model will continue to improve through machine deep learning, thereby enhancing the accuracy of biometric recognition. The vast amount of user tag data will also help Huami Technology create Dr. Amazfit, an AI doctor that continuously self-evolves.

On the day of the press conference, Huami also launched two new health-related products: the Oclean electric toothbrush and a sports T-shirt featuring one-way moisture-wicking technology. The Oclean’s performance metrics match those of top-tier products from internationally renowned brands. Priced at 399 yuan, it will enter public beta testing in May. The T-shirt’s inner layer dries instantly without sticking to the skin, utilizing the latest fabric adopted by leading international sportswear brands for this summer.
