Recently, Ankeji Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xinyu Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xinyu Information”), a well-known domestic medical big data company. Under the agreement, both parties will work together to more comprehensively integrate patients’ ctDNA-NGS testing data into a unified database, enabling associative management of medical record data and genomic data (hereinafter referred to as the “Ankeji-Xinyu Database”).

According to VCBeat,Xinyu InformationFounded in 2013, it is a data company focused on the oncology field. After years of research and development, it created Crabyter Research Pro®, a clinical research data management platform for oncology.Designed to help clinical institutions or individuals establish data management and analysis platforms that encompass real-world studies, retrospective analyses, and prospective studies.

Crabyter Research Treasure® has currently become the largest oncology data platform in China,The platform hosts approximately 8,000 clinicians, 900 oncology departments, 1,800 clinical research projects, and 400,000 enrolled patient cases. By establishing a community for clinical practice and scientific research among physicians, which includes patient management features such as follow-up, the platform leverages big data to build precision medicine models. The platform features functionalities such as study management, follow-up management, statistical analysis, single-patient view, multi-source data entry, data quality management, oncology knowledge base, and mobile-assisted management. In the future, it will also implement biobank management and genomic data analysis capabilities.

Anchor Diagnostics Holdings Limited is a multinational technology company dedicated to benefiting humanity through genetic science, with a focus on high-throughput sequencing technologies for circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and their applications in precision cancer therapy. Its independently developed Firefly technology is an ultra-high-precision, ultra-high-sensitivity high-throughput sequencing platform that not only enables precision medicine for oncology patients but also serves as a novel medical adjunctive diagnostic method for the early screening, detection, and diagnosis of cancer.

It is reported that since its inception, Ankeji has adopted Xinyu Technology’s clinical oncology research data management platform as a supplement to its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

The jointly developed “Ankeji-Xinyu Database” is built upon Xinyu Company’s mature clinical oncology research data management platform (Crabyter Research Treasure® Oncology Research Data Management System) and leverages Ankeji’s in-depth understanding of the market pain points associated with providing NGS clinical testing services to clinical departments. Designed for clinical departments collaborating with Ankeji on ctDNA-NGS testing, it offers a more comprehensive, holistic, and high-value data mining platform.

Regarding this collaboration, Dr. Hou Ying, Vice President of Marketing for Ancare Group’s China region, stated: “Despite the rapid development of the NGS clinical testing service market, the connection between hospitals, patients, and third-party clinical testing institutions still relies on test reports.Compared with traditional test reports, the newly established “Ankeji-Xinyu Database,” which allows clinicians to perform real-time queries, offers significant additional advantages.

Mr. Mao Lei, Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Xinyu Technology, believes: “Medical big data is divided into clinical data and genomic data. Xinyu has accumulated years of extensive experience in clinical research data. This collaboration with Ankeji,Integrating clinical and genomic data will leverage their synergistic effects, truly enabling big data insights to serve both physicians and patients, thereby facilitating the realization of precision medicine.

More Transparent Display of Data Quality Control to Clinical Practice

Due to the lack of unified technical standards in the ctDNA testing industry and the varying levels of proficiency among companies, hospitals are unable to effectively verify the quality of these tests, and a significant amount of quality control data cannot be reflected in the reports. In the “Ankeji–Xinyu Database,” key quality control parameters for all patient ctDNA tests are automatically updated, enabling physicians to clearly review the raw data quality of each test report and providing transparent assurance of actual quality.

A More Balanced Approach to Resolving the Dilemma of Selecting Reported Mutations

Next-generation sequencing (NGS) can accurately detect mutations with clear clinical significance and also identify many de novo mutation sites; however, there is still controversy within the industry on how to handle variants of unknown significance (VUS) in testing reports. Correspondingly, clinical demands for reported variants vary widely, and there is a lack of industry standards.

“Ankeji–Xinyu Database” aims to effectively address this issue. For clinical test reports, Ankeji presents the results of variants with clear clinical significance in a simplified and intuitive manner, enabling both physicians and patients to grasp the findings at a glance. For mutations whose clinical significance remains uncertain, physicians can search for them in the database and evaluate and explore their value according to their specific needs.

More Powerfully Demonstrating the Value of Big Data to Clinical Practice

Current medical institutions place great emphasis on the accumulation and mining of big data, having amassed large volumes of genetic testing data through scientific research or clinical diagnostics. However, most of these data still exist in a fragmented manner, such as in reports or on hard drives, without being well integrated with patients’ clinical data and phenotypic information.

By leveraging the “Ankeji–Xinyu Database,” these large, fragmented, and disorganized datasets can be effectively utilized and mined, enabling more comprehensive exploitation of data resources. In the future, Ankeji Group will establish a professional team of Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) to assist clinical clients in achieving standardized storage of genetic testing data and clinical data, as well as establishing intrinsic correlations among these data sets, thereby allowing clinical clients to truly appreciate the power of data aggregation.

In the future, the “Ankeji – Xinyu Database” system will initially be made available to relevant departments at hospitals that were among the earliest to collaborate with Ankeji on clinical testing and scientific research, including the Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital, Changhai Hospital, and Changzheng Hospital, before gradually expanding access to additional partners. To better serve patients and enable them to benefit from the transparency and convenience offered by big data in healthcare, Ankeji will also launch a personal user interface allowing patients to query their own medical records and genetic testing data.

“We feel what you feel” (Everything is centered on your experience). Ankeji has always adhered to the philosophy of “bringing peace to others, ensuring peace for oneself, and benefiting all people.” We place a high priority on the experiences of both patients and clinicians, providing patients with transparent, visible, precise, and convenient services, while offering physicians clear, intuitive, comprehensive, and reliable data services.
