YUNMAI Secures Nearly $10 Million in Series B Funding, Serves Millions with Smart Health Hardware

VCBeat has learned that Yunmai Haqing, a smart health services company, announced the completion of its Series B financing round, raising nearly $10 million. The round was led by LB Investment, with participation from Xinwen Capital, Mingshi Capital, and other institutions.The funds from this round of financing will be primarily allocated to team building, product and service refinement, and channel development.

YUNMAI, founded in 2014, is a new-type internet startup specializing in health-focused smart wearable devices, smart home health devices, cloud-based big data mining, and health solutions. YUNMAI’s core businesses include YUNMAI smart hardware, the YUNMAI Smart Health Data Cloud, and the Haolight mobile app.

 

According to VCBeat,Yunmai Technology’s full-year revenue in 2016 approached RMB 100 million, with year-over-year business growth exceeding 200%., and has already established a presence in markets such as the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, and South Korea.

 

Yunmai Technology’s founding team is quite interesting. VCBeat has learned that the founder is Wang Yang, the co-founder and CTO is Luo Huijun, and the vice presidents are Yang Xianfeng and Liang Hao,They both joined Kingsoft Network (Cheetah Mobile) in 2011–2012 and left together in 2014 to found Yunmai Technology.Among them, Yang Xianfeng is a hardware enthusiast and maker, Luo Huijun is a senior software development engineer, and Liang Hao is a top-tier industrial designer. The core team is quite complementary.

 

Prior to this round of financing, Yunmai Haqing had previously secured several million RMB from Mingshi Capital in 2015, followed by a RMB 40 million investment from Sina Weibo, Lianchuang Haowan, and Mingshi Capital.and secured personal angel investments from Fu Sheng and Huang Mingming in the early stages of its founding.

 

Yunmai’s new product, the Yunmai Haoqing 2 Smart Body Fat Scale, is equipped with SmartConnect wireless smart connectivity technology independently developed by Yunmai Technology. It supports Wi-Fi wireless connection for convenient data synchronization, enabling rapid transmission of weighing data to the Yunmai Health Data Cloud each time you step on the scale. This ensures long-term storage of various metrics such as body weight, facilitating both cross-sectional and longitudinal comparisons.
