On May 5, 2017, the “With You” Community Diabetes Health Management Project, jointly promoted by Chongqing Boao Yihe Leijingtang Health Management Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Jinshan Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Chongqing Liangjiang New Area First People’s Hospital, and Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Second People’s Hospital, was officially launched.
This project leverages a comprehensive diabetes prevention and control system and holistic health management solutions developed by national-level research institutions. Over the next two years, it will provide person-centered precision prediction, comprehensive screening, and intervention and treatment for diabetes and its complications to 150,000 permanent residents in the Liangjiang New Area, along with personalized health management services. The initiative aims to increase the awareness rate of diabetes, the blood glucose target attainment rate, and the complication screening rate among the community population, thereby effectively reducing the incidence of diabetes among residents in the area.

In collaboration with Professor Jia Weiping, President of Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital, and Professor Li Qifu, Director of the Chongqing Diabetes Center, Bo’ao Yihe has launched an Eye-Imaging Health Imager and an Integrated Diagnostic Device based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) inspection theory. The initiative aims to introduce appropriate early-detection technologies into community settings, standardize protocols and workflows for the early detection of diabetes, and increase the screening-based discovery rate of new diabetes cases by 5%–10%.

This project aims to improve community-based personal health records, establish a big data platform for health, and comprehensively implement standardized training for community healthcare professionals in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diabetes. By constructing a chronic disease management framework based on big data, the project seeks to enhance diabetes awareness rates, blood glucose control rates, and complication screening rates under this new management model.

Upon implementation, this project will establish China’s first community-based biobank of diabetes risk samples from healthy populations, actively advancing the prevention and control of diabetes as a chronic disease in China. It will genuinely enhance the nation’s capabilities in diabetes prediction, prevention, and health management, ultimately benefiting the vast population of patients with diabetes.
