Recently, the Joint Laboratory for Medical Big Data, co-established by the Research Center on Fictitious Economy and Data Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the “CAS Data Science Center”) and Suowen Boshi Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Suowen Boshi”), held its unveiling ceremony at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Professor Shi Yong, Counselor of the State Council, Member of the 9th National Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology, Academician of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and Director of the Research Center on Virtual Economy and Data Science at the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Academician Gu Jifa of the International Academy for Systems and Cybernetic Sciences, a renowned expert in operations research and systems engineering and one of the principal pioneers in the application of storage theory and multi-objective decision theory; and Ms. Liu Xi, CEO of Suowen Boshi Company, attended the unveiling ceremony and delivered remarks.

Joint Laboratory Inauguration Process
In addition, the event invited clinical experts from multiple Grade A tertiary hospitals in Beijing, including Peking University Cancer Hospital, Peking University First Hospital, National Cancer Center/Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Chinese PLA General Hospital, Air Force General Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Capital Institute of Pediatrics, and AVIC 731 Hospital.
At the event, experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), representatives of Suowen Boshi Company, and clinical experts jointly activated the launch mechanism, officially announcing the establishment of the Joint Laboratory for Medical Big Data. The plaque of the Joint Laboratory was hung alongside the bronze plaque of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Analysis Systems of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, marking Suowen Boshi Company’s formal status as a collaborative partner of the CAS Data Science Center and the National Engineering Laboratory.
In his address, Academician Shi Yong discussed the accumulation of clinical medical data and the mining of data value, offering high praise and affirmation for the work of Suowen Boshi Company, a co-initiator of this event, in the field of clinical medical data. Academician Shi believes thatChina holds institutional and market advantages over the United States in the development of medical data and intelligence, with its technology already ranking among the world’s most advanced. Therefore, it is even more critical to increase investment in the authentic, continuous, and effective collection and accumulation of data, as well as in its scientific analysis and application. This constitutes one of the core objectives behind the establishment of the Joint Laboratory for Medical Big Data.。

Academician Gu Jifa believes that data should not only be “big” but also pay attention to special data such as small samples. It is highly noteworthy how to structurally integrate large and small sample data, including clinical medical data, expert experience data, and computational data, to achieve scientific and effective utilization. In this regard, Academician Gu has corresponding expectations for the newly established joint laboratory.

Professor Yang Yue, Director of the Second Department of Thoracic Surgery at Peking University Cancer Hospital and one of the attending guests, stated that as one of the earliest users of Boshi Medical Cloud, his department has deeply appreciated the appeal and advantages of applying data science in clinical practice. With technological advancements, China should introduce more real-world data into the medical field in the future. By accumulating, analyzing, and studying actual patient medical information, we can break through the limitations of traditional research frameworks and identify and establish more data foundations and research perspectives to assist clinicians. It is hoped that the establishment of this Joint Laboratory for Medical Big Data will yield superior technologies and directions for exploring and applying data value.
Liu Xi, CEO of Suowen Boshi Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., stated that the founding team officially entered the medical data sector in 2014 with the aim of helping to resolve the data dilemmas faced by clinical physicians in China. As the company has grown, its flagship product, Boshi Medical Cloud, has evolved from an initial suite of tools into a specialized SaaS platform for clinical medical data services. It is an unparalleled honor for Suowen Boshi to jointly launch a data laboratory in the medical field with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), a leading institution in China’s data science sector. This collaboration also serves as a strong encouragement to Suowen Boshi’s work. Moving forward, the company aims to leverage the joint laboratory to advance data technology alongside top data scientists at CAS, deeply explore the value of data, provide superior data services to clinicians, and contribute jointly to the Healthy China initiative.
Suowen Boshi Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. was established in 2014. Headquartered in Beijing, it is a healthcare informatics company specializing in professional medical data systems and applications that focus on disease specialization and data structuring.
The company’s “Boshi Medical Cloud” SaaS system comprises three major functional modules:Including clinical academic research, departmental operational analysis, and integrated patient management。
This system not only leverages a real-time, cross-platform cloud infrastructure to structurally manage the vast volumes of unstructured data generated by physicians and patients across various clinical scenarios—including outpatient visits, surgeries, follow-ups, ward rounds, and referrals—but also meets the personalized needs of different departments and physicians with minimal cost and time. It allows for on-demand adjustment of data form combinations and automatically generates diverse analytical datasets tailored to professional medical applications in real time.

Currently, the "Boshi Medical Cloud" system platform developed by Suowen Boshi has already covered nearly nationwide in China400 tertiary hospitals, over 2,400 clinical departments, providing medical data services and mobile solutions for the management of various clinical departments.
Since its market entry in early 2016, it has been designated as a preferred data platform or featured as an exemplary case by numerous professional organizations, including the Trauma Group of the Orthopedic Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the Chinese Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis Alliance, the Neurology Group of the Research Hospital Association, the Northern Cooperative Group for Multiple Myeloma, the Beijing Thoracic Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the Spinal Orthopedics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, the Lymphoma Professional Committee of the Heilongjiang Medical Doctor Association, and the Tianjin Thoracic Trauma Group.
Nowadays,““Boshi Medical Cloud” has covered major disease areas such as oncology, hematology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, neurology, psychiatry, and rheumatology and immunology, as well as the field of chronic disease management, providing significant support for clinical healthcare professionals in their work related to clinical research, patient management, departmental administration, and academic exchange.
