How Can Aesthetic Medicine Clinics Achieve a 1:10 Return on Investment in Online Marketing?

CEO of So-YoungVenus

The Matthew Effect on the internet is highly pronounced. For medical aesthetic institutions, it is better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a large pond; in other words, they must strive to become leaders within a specific category. The approach to achieving this is straightforward: by combining various elements such as target demographics, pricing, categories, procedures, geographic regions, and even design, service, packaging, and business models, institutions can identify their unique advantages, select niche markets, and establish differentiated positioning. For instance, on the SoYoung platform, a hospital in Dalian specializes exclusively in a popular Korean-style upturned nose procedure, enjoying tremendous business success.

Pricing in the medical aesthetics industry is also a topic worthy of in-depth discussion. The demand-price curve adheres to fundamental business realities: for the same product, as price increases, demand correspondingly decreases. High-quality content and guided shopping experiences can make the demand-price curve slightly flatter; however, it is important to note that this does not fundamentally alter the curve itself. Rather, its primary effect lies in enabling marketing efforts to reach a broader audience and expand the user base.

Big Data Will Enable Precise Decision-Making in Healthcare

Dean, Peking University Health Science Center     Jian Qimin

Health big data is not merely a simple process of collection; it embodies scientific thinking and necessitates research into the standards governing data generation, as well as data analysis, ethics, and security. More importantly, scientific research represented by big data must be closely integrated with community health needs. This integration serves as the primary source of big data: starting from clinical and community issues or needs, conducting translational research to generate scientific outcomes, and then feeding these back into clinical and community health services through new interventions and management measures, or via novel molecular markers and early diagnostic methods.

The past development model was largely sustained by environmental pollution and resource depletion. As this approach is unsustainable, China has been actively seeking new models of economic growth. Strategic research has identified the health economy as a new highlight in China’s economic development. Currently, the health economy contributes approximately 7% to China’s GDP, whereas developed countries generally exceed 12%, with the United States reaching 24%. Therefore, there remains significant potential for the health economy to drive China’s overall development.

Struggling to Implement Family Doctor Contracting? The Method Is Wrong

CEO of Community 580   Liu Bo

Family Doctors Are Not a New Term. Pilot programs for family doctor contract services have been implemented in certain regions of China for several years, yet they have received public acclaim without achieving substantial uptake. First, residents’ healthcare-seeking habits are not easily changed in the short term, and it will take time to effectively implement the family doctor model. Second, there is a significant shortage of general practitioners in China, particularly experienced senior general practitioners, making “signed but not serviced” a widespread phenomenon.

The "Notice on Issuing the Guiding Opinions on Promoting Family Doctor Contracted Services," issued by the state in June 2016, provided policy support for the family doctor contracted service model, elevated family doctor services to a national strategy, and set forth specific implementation targets. It required that the coverage rate of family doctor contracted services reach over 30% by 2017.
