He has received the Marr Prize once and the Longuet-Higgins Prize twice. Vijay Kumar, a Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, Professor at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), and IEEE Fellow. He is a pioneer in aerial robotics and collaborative unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Collaborative UAVs are essentially flying collaborative robots capable of performing various complex tasks in the air autonomously, without the need for remote control.

Daniela Rus, a Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, Director of the MIT Robotics Laboratory, and Fellow of both IEEE and AAAI. As the only female member among them, Daniela Rus has an even more legendary academic career: she received one of the highest interdisciplinary honors in the United States—the MacArthur Fellowship—before the age of 40, and she was also the first female director in the history of the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL).
