Wearable Robotics Association Makes China Debut with AI-Powered Rehabilitation Innovations and Files IPO Prospectus

Jun 30, 2017 19:13 CST Updated 19:13

With the continuous emergence of intelligent technologies, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation centered on intelligence is underway.

In recent years, technological innovation in the international field of intelligent assistive devices has been highly active. The penetration and integration of various advanced technologies and innovative achievements—such as information technology, networking, microelectronics, biomaterials, and precision manufacturing—into the field of intelligent assistive devices have accelerated steadily. Consequently, intelligent assistive devices have gradually become a focal point of industrial competition.

New Zone Makes a Spectacular Debut: Wearable Robotics Association Lands in China for the First Time

This year’s Welfare Expo will partner with the Wearable Robotics Association to launch a flagship new Robotics Zone.

The Wearable Robotics Association is currently the largest international consortium for wearable robotics. The Wearable Robotics Conference (WearARcon), held in the United States, has attracted participation from world-renowned rehabilitation robotics companies such as Ekso Bionics, suitX, Cyberdyne, Indego, ReWalk, and Ottobock, as well as prestigious international universities including MIT, the University of Tokyo, and Northeastern University.

This year, the Association is exhibiting outside the United States for the first time, showcasing cutting-edge international technologies and a range of revolutionary products at the exhibition. It will comprehensively demonstrate the applications of robotics in assisting individuals with disabilities, enhancing work efficiency, and improving quality of life.

New Smart Assistive Devices Emerge Continuously; Smart Technology Zone: Intelligent Manufacturing for the Future

For the first time, this Welfare Expo has introduced a dedicated Smart Technology Zone, bringing together top international brands in the field of intelligent assistive devices. Industry-leading companies such as Fourier Intelligence, Daai Robotics, Hengzhuo, Gongdao Fengxing, Fulukang, Elderly-Friendly, and Hubang will present an industry showcase of intelligent assistive technologies to attendees.

Fourier Intelligence will unveil its newly launched lower-limb exoskeleton robot, the Fourier X1. Equipped with 19 sensors located at the lower-limb joints and plantar surfaces, the device detects changes in the user’s gait during walking. Through AI-driven data analysis, it outputs signals to the actuation components, dynamically adjusting gait trajectories to help patients “execute” their movement intentions.

Da Ai will showcase its lower-limb rehabilitation robots, including AiLegs and AiWalker, along with synchronized software systems for the rehabilitation process, such as gait detection and assessment systems, intelligent medical record collection systems, and plantar pressure detection and analysis systems. This integrated offering provides a comprehensive, professional, customized, and visualized solution for patients’ rehabilitation therapy.

Gongdao Fengxing will introduce China’s first intelligent powered below-knee prosthesis—the “Fengxingzhe®.” The device captures sensor signals at 25 times the recognition speed of the human eye, uses onboard chip processing to determine the user’s geographical environment in real time, and predicts movement intent. By replacing the brain and biological nerves in issuing motor commands to the prosthetic limb, it achieves seamless human-machine integration, enabling users to take a natural step forward.
