Research and Development, Production of Medical and Health Products
Bayer, a global leader in innovation, launched the “Bayer Start-up Program Shanghai” in 2016, ultimately receiving applications from more than 50 start-ups. After intense competition, three companies—“Huashengmi,” “Wubei,” and “Ruijia”—emerged as the winners. Among them, “Ruijia,” an entrepreneurial team founded by doctoral students from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, completed an 88-day incubation under the “Bayer Start-up Program Shanghai.” During this period, the team not only secured angel-round financing but also successfully launched its developed product, RayPlus, on DXY.cn this summer. The product is now already providing services to radiologists.

Ruijia Technology Founder Yuan Rong Presents His Project at Grants4Apps Open Day
On July 4 this year, Bayer relaunched the initiative and added a “Dealmaker” program targeting mature innovative enterprises, building upon its existing “Incubator Program.” Through this new program, Bayer aims to identify established Chinese innovators capable of addressing 21 key industry pain points. Today, with more than half the time elapsed since the launch of applications for “Bayer’s Startup Program Shanghai 2017,” over 60 companies have registered, including two from overseas, with participants drawn from across China.

Key Topics of Concern for Registered Companies:
Q: Can enterprises that registered for this program last year apply again this year?
A: No problem. Bayer welcomes applications from all qualified innovative enterprises at any time.
Q: What was Bayer's original intention in organizing this event?
A: The “Grants4Apps” program is one of Bayer’s open innovation initiatives, designed to gain insights into the development of innovative enterprises in China’s digital health sector and to respond to the Chinese government’s call for “mass innovation and entrepreneurship.”Last year, Bayer implemented this project in China.。
Q: “As an internet company primarily focused on online products, what would be the nature of our collaboration if we were selected for the Dealmaker program?”
A:Bayer is a life science innovation enterprise,It also includes a medical service product R&D department.. All enterprises that apply for the “Dealmaker Program” and are ultimately selected will engage in detailed discussions with the relevant business units that issued the challenges. Both parties will determine mutually acceptable modes of collaboration based on the applicant’s business characteristics.
Q: Do companies that applied but were not selected still have opportunities to collaborate with Bayer?
A: Regrettably, your company was not selected for this project, so we will not be establishing a partnership at this time. However, by applying, your company has been added to the “Bayer Contact Directory.” As we continue to develop together, there will be opportunities for further collaboration when suitable circumstances arise.
Q: What is the current status of enterprise registration for the “Dealmaker Program” so far?
A: To date, more than 30 companies have registered for the “Dealmaker Program,” covering healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship ventures at various stages, from seed and angel rounds to Series A and Series C. According to data from VCBeat, over half of these registered companies have secured Series A financing or later.
Applications are still being accepted. There are only 7 days left until the deadline for the “Incubator Program,” and 17 days remaining for the “Dealmaker Program.” Bayer is still waiting for you.
