Recently, BlueRun Ventures informed VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) that Dajia Zhongyi has completed a Series A financing round amounting to tens of millions of RMB. The round was led by Chenshan Capital, with BlueRun Ventures participating as a co-investor, and Chongying Capital serving as the exclusive financial advisor. Dajia Zhongyi is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) platform dedicated to providing one-stop tools and services for TCM practitioners. It previously received angel investment from BlueRun Ventures.

Wu Jiajie, Executive Director at BlueRun Ventures, stated, “By leveraging a complementary cross-disciplinary team and targeting high-growth entry points, we have established a fully closed-loop business model that accumulates data derived from high-quality communities. We hope to empower TCM practitioners and contribute to the standardization and digitalization of the traditional Chinese medicine services industry.”

Doctor Studios Build a Closed Loop for Business, Data, and Transactions

Unlike Western medicine, high-quality TCM practitioners are not affiliated with large hospitals or other institutions; rather, they operate as independent professionals whose reputations are built on word-of-mouth. Each physician cultivates their own specific patient base. For these practitioners, key challenges include effectively managing and serving patients, continuously improving efficiency and therapeutic outcomes, and building a strong professional reputation.

Therefore, Dajia Zhongyi has developed a dedicated personal studio tool for TCM practitioners, tailored to the unique characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine. By integrating patient management, cloud-based medical records, online consultations, pharmacy connectivity, and post-consultation follow-up, it comprehensively empowers TCM practitioners and establishes a complete closed loop encompassing business operations, data management, and transactions.

Tools + Services Drive Organic Word-of-Mouth Conversion; Active Physician Count Leads the Industry

Currently, Dajia Zhongyi has become a leading platform for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioners in the industry. As of July 2017, the app had surpassed 700,000 downloads and boasted over 150,000 monthly active users. Shortly after the launch of its Doctor Studio feature, and without large-scale promotional efforts, a significant number of TCM practitioners certified and opened their studios through organic word-of-mouth conversion via the app, completing hundreds of thousands of patient-doctor consultations.

Classic + AI: Empowering TCM Practitioners to Deliver Effective Care Anytime, Anywhere

The knowledge structure of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is unique. In contrast to the rapid advancements in Western medicine, the theoretical frameworks and therapeutic principles of TCM were established during its classical era; therefore, TCM classics hold significant clinical value. Dajia Zhongyi has systematically organized hundreds of thousands of entries from millennia of classic TCM literature and renowned physicians’ case records. The company also plans to launch an AI-assisted TCM syndrome differentiation system in the near future, leveraging artificial intelligence to help TCM practitioners improve treatment efficacy and efficiency, enabling high-quality care anytime and anywhere.

Behind Dajia Zhongyi (Everyone’s TCM) is a team imbued with dual expertise in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the internet. Founder Sun Tao, a long-time TCM enthusiast and practitioner, previously founded Bingdong Entertainment, which was later acquired by Sohu Changyou, and served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at The9 Limited. Co-founder Mo Yi brings 20 years of experience in the IT industry. He self-studied TCM to treat his own liver disease and his son’s pediatric tic disorder, becoming well-versed in classical TCM texts and successfully managing many complex and refractory cases among relatives and friends. He later studied under Professor Xiong Jibo, a renowned TCM master from Hunan Province.
