Recently, VCBeat (WeChat Official Account: vcbeat) learned that Haici Technology, a well-known domestic mobile smart hospital service provider, has completedSeries B Financing of Nearly 100 Million Yuan, this round of financing was led by SIG, with existing shareholders such as SDO Capital participating in the follow-on investment. China Renaissance Zhulu served as the exclusive financial advisor.

Haici Technology was established in May 2014. The company has independently developed a mobile smart hospital system, dedicated to improving hospital operational efficiency, reducing patient wait times, enhancing the patient healthcare experience, and expanding the scope of hospital services, thereby empowering hospitals.

Over the past three years, Haici has served more than300 Hospitals, provide servicesNear100010,000Visits, Cumulative Transaction VolumeOver 2 billion

The continuous development of mobile internet technology has accelerated the replacement of offline physical service counters with online virtual ones.

Twenty years ago, patients had to visit hospital service counters in person to register and pay for medical services. Ten years ago, they could use self-service kiosks for registration and payment. Today, patients can complete the entire outpatient journey—including appointment scheduling, queueing for consultations, and outpatient fee payment—directly through WeChat and Alipay.

Leveraging WeChat and Alipay, the two major traffic platforms, Haici has integrated internal hospital data systems through official service accounts and service windows to deliver services to patients via hospitals’ official channels. Compared with third-party appointment registration and consultation platforms, this approach entails a lower learning curve, carries greater authority, and is more readily accepted by patients.

Furthermore, Haici provides customized services tailored to the specific needs of each hospital. For instance, in collaboration with Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine and Kangmei Pharmaceutical, it launched a traditional Chinese medicine decoction and delivery service, enabling rapid home delivery of medications to patients.

“Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center was among the first batch of hospitals we partnered with, and it has now completely eliminated manual registration windows. As a hospital with an annual outpatient volume of over 4 million, long queues are rarely seen in the outpatient hall, and the entire facility operates in an orderly manner. We have turned every patient’s mobile device into a service window. This represents a significant boost in efficiency for the hospital, while also greatly enhancing the overall healthcare experience for patients,” Min Neng, CEO of Haici Medical, told VCBeat.

Haici Smart Hospital

Serve as the gateway for patient-hospital interactions, and build the largest open platform in smart healthcare based on scenarios and data.

With the widespread adoption of mobile payments, an increasing number of people have become accustomed to paying via their smartphones, and the healthcare sector is no exception. In many hospitals served by Haici, outpatient online payment volumes have already surpassed offline payment amounts.

In the past two months, Haici has seen its data double through organic growth. The transaction volume in the first half of this year has already surpassed that of the entire previous year, with the full-year gross merchandise value (GMV) projected to reach RMB 3 billion.

Currently, Haici is also exploring areas such as bundled payments in healthcare, pharmaceutical distribution, and telemedicine. Min Neng stated: ““I hope that in the future, Haici will become the Tencent of the healthcare industry. By leveraging its inherent advantages in clinical scenarios and data through a combination of proprietary operations and partnerships, Haici aims to build the largest open platform in smart healthcare, providing patients with convenient and reliable value-added medical services.”

Capitalize on the momentum by accelerating strategic deployment in tiered diagnosis and treatment, commercial health insurance, and pharmaceuticals, thereby contributing to healthcare reform.

Upon completion of the Series B financing, Haici will accelerate its strategic layout in the fields of tiered diagnosis and treatment, commercial health insurance, and pharmaceuticals.

Hot topics in healthcare reform, such as initial diagnosis at primary care institutions, the integration of commercial health insurance with basic medical insurance, and the zero-markup policy on pharmaceuticals, have all spurred a surge in innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities.Taking pharmaceuticals as an example, many hospitals have already begun implementing zero-markup pricing for drugs or outsourcing pharmacy management. Although the pace of change is not rapid, the overarching trend is irreversible. Leveraging data from patient healthcare encounters and future pharmacy operations, Haici can inform patients which pharmacies within a 5-kilometer radius stock the medications they need.

“In the future, we will continuously iterate and update our products, making more attempts in the integration of mobile payment and medical insurance.” When discussing next steps, Min Neng summarized his approach with the phrase “going with the flow.” He believes that China’s healthcare reform has only just begun. Haici will remain hospital-centric, advancing hospitals’ mobile and smart transformation to enable them to focus on clinical and technical services, thereby making healthcare faster and more convenient.

Gong Ting, Managing Director at SIG, the lead investor in this round, stated, “Mobile payments are transforming hospital service scenarios. Haici has met hospitals’ needs for mobile integration and enhanced the efficiency of healthcare services. SIG is optimistic about Haici’s role as an entry point for mobile smart healthcare services and its platform potential.”

Li Hao, head of the Huaxing Zhulu Healthcare Group, stated, “We have a gold standard for selecting teams: the ability to rise from zero to industry leadership in a highly competitive sector through professional expertise rather than resources. Over the past three years, Haici has achieved this goal.”
