On August 17, at the 2017 Healthcare Reform Promotion Conference in Pengyang County, Ningxia, DXY signed a cooperation agreement with the local Health and Family Planning Bureau on physician training and chronic disease management. Leveraging DXY’s advantages in internet technology and the healthcare sector, the partnership aims to build a training platform for primary care physicians and a chronic disease care service platform in Pengyang, thereby boosting grassroots healthcare in the county.

“Over the past decade, DXY has accumulated extensive medical resources. In this initiative, DXY will work closely with the Health and Family Planning Bureau to jointly enhance primary healthcare services and improve service management for patients with chronic diseases in Pengyang, thereby creating a model case for ‘Healthy Ningxia and Smart Healthcare.’” stated Qi Luoyang, Project Director of DXY’s Partnership Program, during his address.

So, how will this collaboration be implemented in practice? And what is the current status of chronic disease management in Pengyang County, Ningxia?

Pengyang County, located on the southeastern edge of Ningxia, is a national key county for poverty alleviation with an agriculture-dominated economy. For a long time, the region has suffered from an inherent shortage of high-quality medical and health resources, making “difficulty in accessing medical care” one of the prominent social issues troubling local residents. “This collaboration aims to leverage DXY’s robust medical resources and internet platform to optimize county-level healthcare capabilities through the innovative ‘Internet + Healthcare’ model, thereby effectively enhancing the service capacity and proficiency of grassroots medical personnel,” said a leader from the Pengyang County Government at the signing ceremony.

Its collaboration is mainly divided into two parts:

Part 1 is “Online,” enabling patients to “connect with experts across China without leaving home.”

Leveraging DXY’s extensive online medical content and digital platform, DXY will build a “Primary Care Training Platform” for Pengyang County, extensively introducing expert resources from first-tier cities and fully utilizing the leading “Internet + Healthcare” model to enhance the professional competence of primary care providers.

The project platform is now live, featuring content such as primary care news, educational lectures on primary care, live expert webinars, and a primary care knowledge base. All healthcare professionals in Pengyang can access the platform for learning by logging in with their mobile phone numbers via the website or WeChat. The system will track learners’ progress in real time and perform statistical data analysis to provide an evidence basis for future training initiatives.

Part Two is “Offline,” through “remote guidance and care for patients with chronic diseases”

Leveraging DXY’s mature “DXY Care” service system and its professional chronic disease management team, we provide high-quality chronic disease management services to patients with diabetes in Pengyang County.

The first batch will involve the offline selection of 100 diabetic patients who meet the specified criteria. DXY will be responsible for providing the necessary equipment and manual services, including blood glucose meters, test strips, a data monitoring platform, and dedicated customer service personnel. Specifically, after diabetic patients collect data using the blood glucose meters, the data will be automatically uploaded to the management backend. This information will simultaneously notify customer service representatives, physicians, and family members (including children), enabling manual intervention when necessary.

It is reported that, to date, the DXY chronic disease management team has provided services to thousands of diabetic patients, effectively helping them manage their blood glucose levels.
