VCBeat has learned that on September 28, WeDoctor and Luneng Group signed a project cooperation agreement in Beijing to accelerate the deep integration of “Internet + Family Medicine + Real Estate.” WeDoctor’s new type of medical institution, the WeDoctor General Practice Center, has settled into Taishan No. 9 in Jinan. This is the first project implemented since the two parties reached a strategic cooperation agreement in June this year. It will provide comprehensive and in-depth health and medical services featuring “general practice + specialized care + home smart terminals” to the owners of Taishan No. 9 and the 80,000 residents in the surrounding Lingxiu City area.

Under the agreement, WeDoctor General Practice will establish a General Practice Service Center, Elderly Care Center, Rehabilitation Service Center, Children’s Health Center, and Women’s Health Center within the Taishan No. 9 Project. This includes the development of no less than 400 square meters of ancillary service areas for elderly care and rehabilitation, with a focus on providing high-quality healthcare services to the elderly.

WeDoctor General Practice is led by Professor He Chao, former president of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The team members are mostly from well-known tertiary hospitals and excellent community health service centers. The first WeDoctor General Practice clinic in Hangzhou gained favor from enterprises and institutions such as Tencent, 8 million Zhejiang businessmen, and real estate developers across various regions within just half a year of its opening.

As its inaugural project in medium-to-large residential communities, WeDoctor General Practice will introduce a multi-tiered service system to the Taishan No. 9 Community. First, leveraging over 7,300 multidisciplinary expert teams on the WeDoctor platform, it will enable residents to access nationwide specialist consultations without leaving their community. Second, it will seamlessly integrate with the 12 specialized diagnosis and treatment centers of WeDoctor Internet Hospital, providing comprehensive management and treatment for complex conditions and chronic diseases such as cardiac, cerebrovascular, and vascular disorders, hypertension, and diabetes. Third, it will connect to appointment and referral channels at 2,400 key hospitals, promptly meeting patients’ needs for surgeries and hospitalization.

Furthermore, WeDoctor General Practice will provide property owners with intelligent healthcare services to better manage the health of its member homeowners.

“In the future, family doctors in communities will certainly become an essential component of green buildings and communities. Luneng has set an excellent precedent by making professional medical services accessible right at residents’ doorsteps a reality. I believe that developing China’s buildings and communities along this direction will undoubtedly benefit the Chinese people,” said He Chao, Senior Vice President of WeDoctor and Founder of WeDoctor General Practice.

It is understood that “Taishan No. 9” is Luneng Group’s health-focused real estate brand, primarily covering three major product types: high-end urban health apartments, all-age smart health communities, and integrated health resort complexes. “Taishan No. 9 aims to create a community centered on universal smart health, which aligns perfectly with WeDoctor General Practice’s philosophy of ‘whole-person, whole-process, and whole-family’ care,” said a relevant executive from Luneng Group at the signing ceremony. “WeDoctor General Practice boasts strong offline medical expertise and robust online medical resource integration capabilities. During preliminary surveys of property owners, this family-doctor-based health management model received widespread welcome and support. It not only meets the personalized health needs of diverse homeowners but also upgrades our project’s ancillary services. We are confident in collaborating with WeDoctor General Practice to create a benchmark innovative health community that can be replicated across China.”

According to the cooperation agreement between both parties, the Taishan No. 9 WeDoctor General Practice Center is scheduled to officially open next September. It will provide health promotion, disease diagnosis and treatment, chronic disease management, remote consultation, and follow-up services for homeowners’ families, effectively managing the health of community residents and enabling homeowners to access care within a “10-minute medical service circle.”

It is reported that WeDoctor General Practice is committed to building the “Starbucks of the healthcare industry.” According to its previously announced plan, it aims to establish 100 regional general practice centers across China within three years through self-built, franchised, and managed models, all adhering to JCI standards. In addition to Hangzhou and Jinan, WeDoctor General Practice centers in Beijing, Nanjing, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and other cities are under active construction. He Chao told reporters that WeDoctor will continue to adopt an open model, collaborating with local government agencies, real estate developers, and large enterprises in medium and large cities to jointly develop community-based and enterprise-based WeDoctor General Practice centers, providing Chinese citizens and families with the most professional, one-stop, proactive health and medical services.
