[Health Point] Respecting and realizing the value of patients and healthy populations is at the core of global healthcare system reforms. Today, during the 8th Caixin Summit, Caixin Media’s Health Point Think Tank held the “2017 China Value-Based Healthcare Summit Forum” in Beijing. Distinguished leaders from government, medicine, business, and academia, all with broad social reputations, centered their discussions on “value-based healthcare.” Based on the needs of patients and the general population, they engaged in multiple thematic discussions, introduced global forward-looking perspectives, analyzed the latest industry trends, and explored various pathways and models to improve medical and health services from technological, payment, service, and management dimensions. As one of the key topics of the forum, the “Report on Service Upgrading for Chinese Cancer Patients” was released and interpreted at the event. Participants also engaged in roundtable discussions to explore innovative solutions addressing the patient needs identified in the report. We have specially created an infographic based on the report to facilitate a better understanding of its key insights.
