To help realize the goal of universal health at an early date, on December 12, the Family Health Special Committee of Health and Medical Big Data under the Chinese Society for Health Informatics, together with China Family News and Weiyi, jointly launched the “2017 Health Festival” to promote new models of internet-based medical and healthcare services and guide the public to shift from a “passive medical care” mindset to one of “proactive health.”

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the construction of a Healthy China has been elevated to a national strategy. The report of the 19th National Congress further emphasized the need to provide comprehensive, full-cycle health services to the public. This not only demonstrates the high priority placed by the Party and the state on people’s health but also underscores the urgency of improving the overall health status of the entire population. To this end, this Health Festival aims to call on residents to prioritize daily health management and take preventive measures through an integrated online and offline approach.

A major highlight of this year’s Health Festival is the launch of the “Finding You in Helplessness Amidst Illness” campaign, initiated in collaboration with key hospitals. This initiative provides long-term health tracking for patients with complex and refractory diseases, offering one-on-one services and online-offline specialized disease management by prioritizing matches with hospitals and experts aligned with the patient’s condition and geographic location. Additionally, a zero-cost public welfare service package providing direct access to renowned pediatric specialists will be solicited from physicians nationwide to deliver health management services for children with special needs. Reportedly, this charitable initiative has already garnered support from experts at institutions such as Beijing Children’s Hospital and the Capital Institute of Pediatrics.

As the second WeDoctor Health Festival, the event digitally connected more than 2,400 key hospitals, over 7,400 teams of specialists in key disciplines, and 260,000 doctors on the WeDoctor platform across China. By leveraging various formats such as online consultations, health advisory services, and professional health education, it joined forces with physicians nationwide to build a robust health protection matrix, delivering centralized, professional health services to the public.

Meanwhile, the WeDoctor platform has launched a dedicated Health Festival, featuring themed sub-events such as “Ask,” “Learn,” and “Act.” By integrating education with entertainment across various aspects—including health consultations and health information—the initiative aims to attract online users, cultivate their health management habits, and shift the mindset from “seeking medical care only after falling ill” to “preventing disease before it occurs.”

The event also collaborated with renowned traditional Chinese and Western medicine hospitals and experts, including the PLA General Hospital (301 Hospital) in Beijing and Longhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, to conduct free clinic activities, enabling users to access one-stop internet medical services that integrate online and offline care.

Centered on the theme “Want to Be Healthy? Follow Me,” this year’s Health Festival hosted the “Embrace Health, Speak Up for Health” campaign in the central urban districts of five cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Chengdu. Through engaging and interactive health-themed games that convey wellness concepts, the initiative not only reflected local economic development and residents’ quality of life, but also highlighted the public’s health needs and aspirations, calling on everyone to get moving for better health.

Meeting users’ comprehensive service needs in health management, medical services, health consumption, and health insurance has always been the goal pursued by WeDoctor. It is reported that participants in this event include renowned hospitals such as Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Huashan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University, the 301st Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital, Tangdu Hospital of the Fourth Military Medical University, and Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, as well as prominent organizations including China Family News, Meinian Onehealth, FitTime, Yuedongquan, Zhongan Insurance, Bailian Group, Rich Healthcare, and Mobike.
