On December 16, 2017, the “2017 Summit Forum on Aesthetic Dentistry,” co-hosted by Malo Clinic China and Chimei Education and organized by Straumann, was successfully held at the Malo Clinic Beijing Hotel Branch. Nearly one hundred guests from within and outside the industry participated in the forum.
Shao Zongzong, Chairman of Malo Clinic China; Yang Zhiyu, COO; Professor Tan Jianguo, Professor Luan Qingxian, and Professor Fan Cong, Chief Lecturers at Chimei Education; renowned dentist Jiang Shan; Zhang Yihao, General Manager of KaVo-Nobel Biocare Greater China; Diao Jing, Marketing Director for Straumann China; and Deng Jingxian, General Manager of the Dental Care Products Group at 3M China, among other industry luminaries, attended the event.
During the keynote session of the High-Level Forum, renowned and authoritative experts in the field of aesthetic restorative dentistry—including Tan Jianguo, Luan Qingxian, Fan Cong, and Jiang Shan—were invited to share their professional insights, while a cohort of outstanding young clinicians from the industry was also invited to engage in thematic discussions.
At the event, an unveiling ceremony was also held for the Malo Dental Aesthetic Education Clinical Teaching Base. Professor Tan Jianguo, together with Shao Zongzong and Yang Zhiyu from Malo Dental, jointly unveiled the plaque to launch the project.
According to reports, this is the first clinical teaching base for dental aesthetics in China jointly established by both parties. Professor Tan Jianguo will serve as the Chief Aesthetic Consultant Expert, working together to promote the development of disciplinary construction in the field of dental aesthetics.
At the event, several distinguished guests shared their perspectives on the dental industry and outlined their vision for future collaboration with Malo Clinic. VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) compiled the following summary.
Jiang Shan: Private Dental Practices Must Build Their Own Capabilities in New Technologies
Guest: Renowned Domestic Dentist and Master of Aesthetic Restoration
He believes that private dental clinics have experienced rapid growth in recent years, placing greater emphasis on building service systems and controlling service quality. They attach great importance to investing in new technologies and innovations, as well as enhancing the professional competence of dentists, which constitutes the foundation and essential core competitiveness of private dental clinics.
Jiang Shan remarked that Malo Clinic is an excellent medical institution, and its collaboration with Chimei Education is a highly positive development. China has nearly 50,000 professional dentists, a number that is extremely small relative to its population of 1.4 billion, resulting in a significant shortage of dental professionals.
The collaboration between the two parties can provide a platform for continuing education and training for doctors, standardizing and normalizing the re-education system for physicians, thereby better promoting the forward development of the industry.
Zhang Yihao: Jointly Carry Out Collaborative Projects in Orthodontics, Dental Implants, and More
Guest: General Manager, KaVo Nobel Greater China
“As a global leader in the dental industry, Zhang Yihao stated that Danaher’s Dental Platform shares deep-rooted ties and close collaboration with Malo Clinic.”
In China, as a provider and leader of one-stop solutions in the field of dentistry, Kavanabo Baoke Group has expanded its cooperation with Malo Clinic beyond dental implants to encompass orthodontics, aesthetic dentistry, premium dental chairs, digital solutions, and dental imaging.
In the future, both parties will further strengthen their cooperation to jointly establish the Malo-Nobel Biocare Digital Implantology Center, the Malo Insignia Digital Orthodontics Center, the Malo-KaVo Premium Dental Equipment Demonstration Center, and the Kerr Endo Digital Prosthodontics Center, among others, thereby advancing collaboration in areas such as physician training and patient education.
He stated that, looking ahead, he hopes to leverage the international influence of Dr. Malo and Malo Clinic, along with KaVo Nobil BioCare Group’s comprehensive product solutions and extensive reach among dentists, to jointly plan and organize academic education and training programs in dental implantology tailored to professionals at various levels.
Both parties have explored and launched training and education programs in multiple fields, including orthodontics, aesthetic dentistry, and dental imaging. Additionally, they are piloting targeted patient education initiatives at select Malo Clinic locations.
Diao Jing: Strong Demand for Aesthetic Services, Significant Growth Potential
Guest: Straumann China Marketing Director
Straumann is a globally recognized leader and authoritative expert in the field of aesthetic dental solutions. When asked why Straumann chose to partner with Malo Clinic, Diao Jing stated, “With nearly 70 years of history, the Straumann Group not only provides dentists and patients with the finest products and technologies but is also committed to fostering in-depth, multidisciplinary, digital, and team-based collaboration. Malo Clinic boasts a professional medical team and exceptional technical expertise. We look forward to combining our strengths to realize more ambitious future plans.”
In envisioning future collaboration between the two parties, Diao Jing believes that China’s dental industry has entered a period of rapid growth, with the public paying increasing attention to their oral health. The primary focus has gradually shifted from restoring function to meeting aesthetic needs, a trend consistent with that observed in developed countries.
Both parties will progressively deepen and broaden their collaboration in the future, extending beyond providing optimal implant-supported restorations for patients to encompass multidisciplinary cooperation, including clear aligner therapy, digital diagnosis and treatment, and restorative care.
Deng Jingxian: Strengthening Research and Collaboration in Dental-Related Fields
Guest: General Manager, Dental Care Products Group, 3M China
Regarding the collaboration with Malo Clinic, Deng Jingxian noted that 3M is a century-old innovator, while Malo Clinic is also a healthcare enterprise committed to innovative technologies and delivering high-quality services to patients. The two companies share a common culture and DNA of innovation.
As a global premium chain of dental clinics, Malo Clinic’s advanced management philosophy, rapid growth trajectory, and sustainable development model have filled 3M with anticipation and confidence for the future collaboration between the two parties.
Regarding future collaboration between the two parties, in addition to further cooperation in professional talent development, the focus will be on strengthening research and partnership in dentistry-related fields. For instance, Malo Clinic and 3M each possess unique advantages in aesthetic dental restoration, and the two parties will collaborate in this area.
Secondly, pediatric dental issues are receiving increasing societal attention, and collaboration in the areas of pediatric dental treatment and caries prevention will also be considered.
Third, both parties will also collaborate on social welfare initiatives and brand building, strengthening public oral health education and the promotion of related concepts.
