2018 Internet Healthcare Academic & Technology Exchange Conference to Be Held in Beijing

With “Healthy China” elevated to a national strategy, internet-based healthcare has been included for the first time as an industrial organizational form in the 13th Five-Year National Plan. A series of new organizational models, including internet healthcare and digital health services, are reshaping the development of the healthcare industry, ushering in a new era of significant growth. The application of emerging technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence is bringing transformative experiences to the future of healthcare.

Guided by the Hospital Management Center of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and jointly organized by the Internet Medical Health Industry Alliance, the National Engineering Laboratory for Internet Medical Systems and Applications, and the China IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group, the “2018 Academic and Technical Exchange Conference on Internet Medical Health” will grandly open at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from January 13 to 14, 2018. The conference aims to delve into how the internet empowers the medical health industry, promote the ongoing reshaping of medical service models and industrial value, uncover the core value of internet-based medical health, and highlight its key role in facilitating a more rational and efficient allocation of high-quality medical resources.

Themed “Intelligence, Integration, Inclusiveness, and Health,” the conference will invite officials from government regulatory authorities, representatives from authoritative industry institutions, and experts and executives from leading domestic and international internet and healthcare companies. Together with over 1,500 invited industry guests, they will discuss the development and advancement of future healthcare in the internet era.

Concurrently with the conference, six themed sub-forums will be specially organized, covering Internet Healthcare and Health Poverty Alleviation, Internet + Biopharmaceuticals, Medical Cloud Computing, Wireless Medical Internet of Things (IoMT), Internet Healthcare + Financial Insurance, and Medical Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. It was revealed that during the conference, the Internet Medical Health Industry Alliance will release the first batch of trusted selection evaluation lists for medical cloud services and the recommended directory for medical cloud service capabilities; publish the White Paper on Medical Artificial Intelligence and a series of specifications for medical informatization; launch the trial ceremony for the Big Data Platform Project for AI-Assisted Diagnosis; and release authoritative content such as training and certification programs for professionals in internet medical health.

To effectively promote the widespread application of contemporary advanced information and communication technologies—represented by emerging internet technologies such as cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence—in the field of internet-based healthcare, showcase the achievements of the internet healthcare industry, and encourage organizations and individuals with outstanding expertise in this domain, the Internet Healthcare Industry Alliance will convene senior experts from authoritative research institutions, medical facilities, and key universities to conduct evaluations. Through this process, a cohort of industry-leading technological achievements, solutions, institutions, and individuals will be selected and honored with the Annual Internet Healthcare Awards. These awards encompass dozens of professional accolades across three major categories: Best Application Practices, Outstanding Solutions, and Innovative Technological Products.

It is understood that this selection process targets modern information and communication technologies, including the Internet, mobile Internet, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence, 5G, and the Internet of Things. The initiative aims to improve public medical and healthy living, optimize traditional healthcare services, foster a favorable healthcare environment, and comprehensively develop the healthcare industry. It also seeks to showcase technological achievements in areas such as technology research and development, product manufacturing, system integration, and platform construction. Relevant organizations were organized by the Hospital Management Center of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and the Internet Medical Health Industry Alliance to complete award applications and recommend candidates for review.

Internet Health Care Industry Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the “Alliance”) is a non-profit third-party organization jointly led and established by the Hospital Management Center of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology. It was co-founded by these two entities together with multiple national comprehensive large-scale medical institutions, internet healthcare enterprises, universities, and research institutes.

The Alliance was officially established on June 24, 2016, at the First International Internet Healthcare Conference. The Alliance aims to promote extensive exchanges and in-depth cooperation among academic, technological, and industrial stakeholders in China’s internet healthcare sector, fostering complementary advantages and integrated innovation to effectively address practical challenges facing the internet healthcare industry.
