VCBeat (WeChat ID: vcbeat) has learned that the medical aesthetics chain Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics recently announced it completed a RMB 10 million angel funding round in January this year, with Qingrui Venture Capital as the investor.

Following this round of financing, Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics will accelerate the expansion of its chain of medical aesthetic clinics and establish an operations center to centrally manage recruitment, procurement, finance, and operational activities across its clinic network.

Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics is an “Internet+” chain brand of light medical aesthetics established to focus on dermatological cosmetic and anti-aging needs. Rooted in dermatological cosmetology, it integrates high-quality physician resources to provide users with precise skin management, health management, and facial contour refinement services, as well as one-stop anti-aging solutions. Its primary clientele consists of white-collar women aged 25 to 50.

Currently, we primarily offer four core service categories: medical-grade skin management, minimally invasive precision contouring, anti-aging and rejuvenation, and energy-based device treatments. Covering more than 20 SKUs, we emphasize a comprehensive treatment philosophy in medical aesthetics, providing personalized regimens tailored to each client’s individual skin condition. From basic skincare to precise minimally invasive contouring, we deliver sustained improvement in overall skin health and appearance.

In July 2017, Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics officially opened its first medical aesthetics clinic in Xi’an, and it plans to open two to three new clinics in 2018.

Liu Tengfei, Founder and CEO, graduated from Chung-Ang University in South Korea. A serial internet entrepreneur, he founded the vertical e-commerce menswear brand Lefu International, the P2P Korean tour guide platform OMG Travel, and the overseas homestay booking platform Han Ni Wan. Co-founder and Technical Partner Li Youde is a Professor of Dermatology at Yonsei University College of Medicine in South Korea, responsible for training physician teams and establishing standardized protocols. He is also the Founder and Director of Lee Ji-han Dermatology Clinic in South Korea, and the Founder of Dr. Li dermocosmetics.

Compared to regions with relatively developed medical aesthetics industries, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, where market saturation is high, Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics remains optimistic about the consumption upgrade in the medical aesthetics markets of second- and third-tier cities like Xi’an, Chengdu, and Chongqing. In these areas, medical aesthetics resources remain relatively scarce, leaving beauty seekers struggling to find suitable institutions and physicians.

According to reports, Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics currently has a medical team of four doctors, primarily recruited from the dermatology departments of Grade IIIA hospitals and private medical aesthetic institutions. Based on the operational performance of its first clinic, the average customer acquisition cost is controlled at RMB 200, accounting for approximately 10% of total operating costs.

Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics’ first clinic currently relies primarily on offline channels for customer acquisition, introducing the Fanxing brand through collaborations with postpartum care centers, beauty industry institutions, and health examination centers. Following the establishment of its Xi’an operations center, the company will focus on online traffic management and customer acquisition, leveraging short-video influencer IPs to attract younger users.

During the 1.0 era of Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics, the primary objective was to establish standardized operations for individual clinics and achieve scalable replication. Liu Tengfei stated that the second Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics clinic will officially open in Xi’an this May.

To avoid the intense competition in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics primarily targets second- and third-tier markets that have a relative scarcity of medical aesthetic resources but boast substantial population sizes and strong purchasing power. After refining its standardized systems for management and clinical services, Fanxing Light Medical Aesthetics plans to expand beyond Xi’an in 2018, extending its reach to other cities in northwest and southwest China.
