During the Two Sessions, the State Council’s institutional reform plan was submitted to the First Session of the 13th National People’s Congress for deliberation. Under this plan, the National Health Commission will be established. Shifting from past planning-oriented approaches to current guarantee-focused measures, future health and wellness policies are expected to transition from a “disease-treatment-centered” model to a “people’s health-centered” one, moving from treating diseases to preventing them. Health management, once merely a pre-diagnostic preventive measure, is gradually evolving into a lifestyle.
High-level design prioritization ushers in the greatest development opportunities for the health management industry. State Councilor Wang Yong stated that the health of the people is a significant indicator of national prosperity and strength. To advance the implementation of the Healthy China Strategy, it is essential to establish a comprehensive concept of public health and holistic well-being, shifting the focus from disease treatment to people-centered health.
