Pfizer China Announces Leadership Transition as Dr. Wu Xiaobin Departs to Pursue New Ventures, Miao Tianxiang Appointed Successor

Pfizer China announced today (April 23) that Dr. Wu Xiaobin, President of Pfizer’s Core Health Greater China and Country Manager for Pfizer China, will leave the company after 15 years of service to pursue new career opportunities.


Miao Tianxiang, current Vice President of Finance at Pfizer China, will be appointed as President of Pfizer Essential Health Greater China and Country Manager for Pfizer China. Wu Feng, current Head of Commercial and Diversified Businesses in China, will be appointed as Head of Pfizer Essential Health China. These appointments will take effect on May 1, 2018.

His passion, energy, and spirit have inspired many Pfizer employees,” said Huang Weiming, President of Pfizer’s Core Medical Group.


Miao Tianxiang and Wu Feng are both members of the current Pfizer China leadership team. Dr. Wu will work closely with Miao Tianxiang and Wu Feng to ensure a smooth transition.

About Miao Tianxiang


Miao Tianxiang is a highly respected leader within the company. His more than 24 years of experience at Pfizer have equipped him with extensive expertise for his roles as President of Greater China and Country Manager.


During his tenure at Pfizer, Miao Tianxiang held a series of increasingly senior roles across multiple divisions, including Animal Health, Manufacturing, and Pharmaceutical Operations. Prior to joining Pfizer, he served as an Associate Professor at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. In 2014, he was named one of the “Top Ten Outstanding CFOs in China.”
