On June 9, the 2018 Summit on Innovative Practices in Primary Healthcare was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The event was hosted by the National Engineering Laboratory for Internet Medical Systems and Applications, Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine, the Internet Medical Health Industry Alliance, and VCBeat. Mingyi Zhonghe Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (“Mingyi Zhonghe”) was selected as one of the “Best Cases of Innovative Practices in China’s Primary Healthcare in 2018” for its innovative, leading, and professional internet-based information platform for primary healthcare.

Launched in April, the two-month selection process collected 142 case studies of grassroots healthcare projects from 27 provinces and municipalities across China. The submission phase involved a multi-dimensional analysis and evaluation of these cases, focusing on industrial policy alignment, business model feasibility, technological advancement, breadth of grassroots coverage, and effectiveness of grassroots adoption. It also included surveys of innovative enterprises in the grassroots healthcare sector, with final selections made through rigorous expert review. Mingyi Zhonghe was awarded the “Best Grassroots Information Platform” for its “Cloud-Based Medical Insurance Services and Governance Platform for Small and Micro Medical Institutions.”

The award-winning case by Mingyi Zhonghe presents a health insurance regulatory solution tailored for small-scale designated medical institutions operating within a fully internet-based system. At its core, the solution leverages the concept and technologies of “Internet Plus,” relying on government-side management and service systems to build a socially operated “Health Insurance Cloud Service and Regulatory Platform” for small designated medical institutions. This platform provides the government with comprehensive real-time health insurance monitoring data, offers small medical institutions a fully internet-enabled business environment, and delivers mobile and online services to residents.

Strengthening the weak primary healthcare information systems by leveraging “Internet Plus” concepts and technologies, integrating with other management and service systems, empowering primary healthcare institutions, and providing residents with mobile, online, and standardized services is a long-term task.

Over the past three years since its establishment, Mingyi Zhonghe has remained deeply committed to strengthening and empowering grassroots healthcare. The company aims to position small and micro medical institutions at the primary care level as frontline execution points, integrating them with upstream medical resources to reduce the distance patients must travel for care. Currently, Mingyi Zhonghe has established a strong presence in central China, operating more than 80 cloud pharmacies, covering over 100 prefecture-level cities, and delivering multi-dimensional services to nearly 60,000 clinics.

In the future, Mingyi Zhonghe will continue to uphold the philosophy of “Empowerment, Sharing, and Restructuring,” enhancing the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of existing small and micro primary care institutions across broader dimensions, thereby facilitating access to medical services for grassroots populations and improving overall health outcomes.
